I wonder if some of you commodity traders have any tip on how to stay on top on the amount shorted and not get trapped on the wrong side on a potential squeeze?
Yesterday I was short coffee when large shorters decided to cover and the price skyrocketed up around 6-7%. I am fairly new to trading commodities so any tip is welcome. Thanks
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Judging by your question, you should not be trading with real money until you prove your system on paper. But to answer your question, you can analyze volume to recognize these patterns, and to set stop losses. Practice on paper first.
Oh really? Can you analyze volume? And stop loss, how on earth did I not know about that. Have you not thought about selling courses? With the type of vast knowledge you exhibit clearly you would make a ton of money doing so.
Tip: If you do not know the answer to a question then move along instead of looking stupid by being a smart a##
When you disagree with something someone says, or when you don't think it's very valuable, you can either ignore it or you can say that it's not what you're looking for. Even if there's nothing in they were offering, in your opinion, there's no reason to blast them with something like "move along instead of looking stupid by being a smart ass."
In normal face-to-face conversation with people, almost no one will use that kind of language with others. On the internet, where for some reason normal standards get suspended, it's pretty common.
You should know that in this forum, this kind of language can get you banned. Since you are fairly new here, I am just going to mention it now as something to be aware of. But it is enforced, with bans if necessary.
Please maintain normal professional courtesy when you respond to people here, as you would in any professional or business setting. The bad habits that people pick up on the internet, where any degree of rudeness is accepted (behind the safety of the keyboard) are just not acceptable here. It would have taken you nothing to just be normally civil and not call someone stupid and a smart ass just because you didn't think you could use his suggestion. If you couldn't, fine. Just leave it.
You will receive no more cautions on this. If there are any more examples of this, you will simply be banned, and we will be done with each other. Or, you can respond with normal civility and normal standards of professionalism, and all will be well. Your choice.
Bob.

As a follow up to the thread Tomorrow's chart (, i thought it might be helpful to create a thread dedicated to the process of creating a plan for the next day using volume analysis only with the CME volume tool. The idea is to use this free tool and …
