NYMEX Rulebook links to this for CL rules:
https://www.cmegroup.com/content/dam/cmegroup/rulebook/NYMEX/2/200.pdf

Howver, I've also come across this:
https://www.cmegroup.com/cn-t/files/rulebook-200.pdf

The latter seems to include special fluctuation limits as well as the ability to accept foreign grades. The second one appears to be hosted on the CME website for China (and also looks newer even though they have the same copyright date).

Anyone know why there appears to be two different rulebooks?

The second one is how I remember it. Looks like they changed it. WOW rather embarrassed to say I didn't know they have changed that. I was checking the rulebook the other day to try and find the differentials for non-WTI crudes and didn't understand why I couldn't find them.

Based upon a google search looks like they changed the delivery rules 6 years ago! How embarrassing!

Baker Hughes Rig Count Down 53.
That's 358 in 6 weeks!!! (19, 40, 62, 58, 66, 60 & 53)

Rig count not been this low since late 2016. Currently at 325 still 9 above 2016 low of 316.

Please excuse me if this has already been asked.

The volume for /CLN0 is more than /CLM0.

And the depth is thicker for July as well.

Am I missing something?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

-William

Maybe many FCMs are not allowing trading June but ok with July.. hence the volume in July.. just a guess

USO and all the other ETFs, and the commodity index's are all out of June weeks earlier than normal. Plus as @jokertrader said many FCMs are not allowing clients to trade June.

Read on the internet (so it must be true) that Monday IF there are still 50,000 open contracts in the June delivery it is going to be another ugly ugly end to the contract as there just isn't enough room left in Cushing.

Does that have any validity?
