Yes, 01-12 contract is the active one. As FatTails noted, volume for CL has been low already for couple of days, it just seems everybody is holding their breath because of (no) developments in EU so far this week while waiting for possible major news by end of the week. On Wednesdays traders also tend to wait for Oil Inventory report, so we should see some better activity after 10:30am.
Ok thanks for confirming that. Man the CL just blows chunks right now huh? What's the deal? I mean I'm looking at it, and it's like hardly moving at all.
It is moving but slowly. During the European Session, there was an established down trend. Prior to the start of the US session there is a tendancy for mean reversion.
So far CL stayed within the noise bands. It is now waiting for the crude inventories, which are due in 10 minutes. Maybe you will get some entertainment.
