These updates are great and I'm learning a lot from you about the NQ. I like the experiment to improve your risk to reward ratio. I've been developing my strat and aiming mainly for 60 ticks. I find that I can sometimes hit 80-120 ticks if I can take some heat. As you mentioned in the video, I'm also trying to figure out when to take profit, although I'm only doing 1 contract so it's a bit of a different dynamic. Please let us know whether you see positive results from the new profit targets.

Thanks. I will definitely reveal my results in a few weeks. So far, it seems to be working. The good news is that NQ is an instrument that is easily capable of hitting those bigger targets..as long as you map out your support and resistance properly.

A little tip: This is especially true on days with 10:00 am news...It's very easy to get whipsawed in post news price action. I have found that if you have the patience to wait until approx 10:17 to 10:25 est, the real move will reveal itself in that time period. This held true again today. All 3 pics are from the same trade just showing the entry, midpoint and end. The trade was taken at approx 10:20 am est. The move went on much further than that, but my target seemed to be before any real S/R.

I ended up missing the initial afternoon selloff..presumably from the new Capital Gains tax proposal..but ended up with a couple of good trades later. The first one was a reversal for 100 ticks..and the 2nd one was a return back to the downtrend for another 100 ticks.

lancelottrader -

I've been following your posts since watching your webinar. I appreciate what you've shown very much.

I wonder if you'd post a vid of you marking up your S/R lines. I know you spoke about doing so in the webinar and often do in these subsequent posts, but I'd like to see you going through the process once, with commentary as to why you pick the zones you do, if you don't mind.

Thanks.

I would find that very helpful also, since S/R plays such an important role in your trading.

And thanks for all the time you put into sharing your journey and knowledge

Here is a video of today's trades continuing my experiment with the 100 tick target 50 tick stop loss system. Also, this first portion shows the simple way I map out my S/R levels.

How do I get this indicator ?

If you are talking about the one I have on my 1 and 2 minute charts, I got it from here on the Future IO's download section. But it's for Ninja Trader 8..There may be versions for other platforms. I'm not sure.
