Welcome to futures io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

Anyone bullish on copper at these levels

I just started trading copper and I wanted to trade it the rest of the year up and down. What should I be looking for besides the dollar, chinese data, and bonds?

Hey @metahominid,

You may want to follow Peru and Chile since they produce more copper than China! Watch their currencies, the dollar, etc. Watch other commodities too.

Good luck!

Alright yeah, I knew South America was an influence because of the number of mines. Volatility has seem to died down. I bought a contract at 2.0795 last week.

Seasonals are bearish until middle of November, COT data is mildly bullish.

Copper is overbought, and looks vulnerable to a hawkish dialogue tonight if it occurs.
