So your current position is SX20-WN20? Is there a reason you chose new crop rather than the suggested May contracts?

Regarding this trade, I do not follow any suggestion.

Regarding beans, planting area will be reduced compared to current assumptions in my opinion. This influences new crop.

Old crop wheat is tight, there is a chance this tightness will be reduce by new crop.

Generally, contracts further out have the advantage not to be influenced by traders.

Additionally, I see this trade as a long term trade.

Best regards, Myrrdin

Is anyone else considering this spread trade: Buy May20 Soybeans & Sell May20 Wheat (CBOT)?

The entry price is attractive (low) but this is somewhat risky considering the ongoing China-USA trade debacle. I am monitoring the movement for a possible entry early Feb.

Will appreciate the views of the seasoned traders.

Regards

I do not have a position in this particular spread yet, but I am watching it closely. I have been short soybeans for a couple of weeks, looking for an exit point on them as I think the downtrend is about over -for the time being-. I also recently went short some wheat as I believe it is over-valued.

So from a fundamental standpoint, this spread looks pretty good IMO.

I sold this spread today. In my opinion, it is overdone now.

I also exited this spread today at 16.00. Hogs just getting hammered, looks like an exhaustion gap. Getting out and re-deploying capital to things with more return.

I just bought a first lot of HEM20-LEM20. In my opinion, hogs are undervalued, and Live Cattle are overvalued, regarding the June contracts.

I do not intend to enter the seasonal trade in the April contracts.

Best regards, Myrrdin

PS: As most readers here understand English better than German, I preferred to answer in English.
