Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

I wish that there were more swing traders out there. These day trading posts are very confusing to me.

Let's say an investor had 500.000 dollars to play with. And this is not me but let's just say an investor has 500,000 to play with.

Why would a person as such fool around with day-trading.

I think that such a person would be more interested in major trend changes.

Making serious money, rather than playing around. T. Boone Pickens - How I made my first billion. George Soros, the euro dollar trade, I think it was.

All this day trading seems like crap to me, why don't people look at the larger picture on the charts.

If you are trading a 10 grand account to avoid working at McDonald's, I could see that

But as to the day traders. I think you are throwing up crap up in the air and playing with it.

If you wanna catch long term trends and become a George Soros - please do it and come back here and tell us how you did it. I personally would totally appreciate that.

As far as your last sentence is concerned - you don't make a living for 6+ years, supporting a family etc. by throwing shit up in the air and 'playing with it'. So, maybe you could stand to learn something from the people here who day trade for a living instead of concluding that it's BS.

A more productive way to find swing traders would be to search the forum for swing trading threads first, and if you don't find any then start a general inquiry thread in the appropriate forum. Whining about it in the middle of a crude analysis thread is a poor choice.

@e4williams - you can start a swing trading thread.

I like swing trading, but I never swing trade futures. I prefer stock options for swing trading.

Nothing says this thread is day trading only.
I don't day trade but I post in it regularly - hopefully I help others - I know many of the posts here are informative to me.

Feel free to post any kind of trade you are taking, day or swing. General idea of this thread was to share ideas and trades of any nature.

Trading

Futures Edge on FIO
Gave away almost 2 weeks of gains today. How is that for a tution fee? I went to Harvard for a week. It's worth all the money. That's why i don't pay attention as to what some one else is doing except to get a different point of view. In the end each trade has to own his trades.

One of the tools available at futures.io (formerly BMT) is to use ignore tab. I use it when necessary. Just used on someone who is is just day dreaming and trolling this thread. Nothing to add , nothing to share but going on in circles for nothing. All the information he has been asking is readily available on the net. There is a thing called Google. Say what again?

Hate to say it, but you sound like a jerk. There are better ways to say that you prefer swing trading without cutting down day traders. Sheesh....

TT, my recommendation will be to move this thread to The Elite section. Anyone who do not want to pay one time fee for futures.io (formerly BMT) membership has plenty to look at and keep wondering where is some of the other stuff.
