I trade the ZB only. Real time, cash.

I need two (2) things to trade. 1. Large volume (1,000 plus) at price. 2. Then trade the reaction to the volume. That's it.

If the market starts trading above the large Volume I go long, below I go short.

ZB,

Could you possibly illustrate that concept with a picture?

How often do you get orders that large coming into the market? I've never watched ZB before, but I do trade off of large orders in RB/HO spreads.

This is a replay of a trade I took today (2/26/2015).
Well it was going to be a picture of my trade, BUT I don't have 5 post yet. So guess you will have to wait until I can post a picture.
Later

1,000 plus contracts is common place in the ZB.

hi Zbtrader,

i also trade ZB and Cl . i buy/short on a 3 tick pullback from a higher high/lower low. Zb tend to hold at low volume node support and resistance. ZB tend to trade on 1 tick range( 2 ways trade)

I trade only the ZB and have been doing so for a few years. I used to trade the ZN but the zb has double the profit and double the move.

I use the ZN, UB as confirmation for the moves in the ZB.

I also use Jigsaw to time my entry and see the order flow.

I trade from 5 -35 contracts yes 35 I have the overnight statements to prove it. My high contract trades are 1-2 tick scalps.

Lately I have tried to condense every thing to one screen as opposed to four. I have been having a lot of success and I will attempt to add a screen shot.

If you are interested in the indicators I use or watching me trade I am thinking of setting up a trade room.

Ray

I don't recommend using the ES as a ZB , or a ZN trend indicator or confirmation. They can move together but not always and not always at the same time.

The UB will move farther faster than the ZB. That is what you use.

My theory is that the UB traders and the ZB traders ( the big ones) use algos based in the ZN movement.

The UB moves faster because its such a thin market. This is only as confirmation to moves. It doesn't replace good techncal anyalsis.

Before the day begins you should have looked at the weekly charts the daily charts to see where the trend is going if any or are you looking at consolidation.

From there you can have an entry bias on your lower time frame charts. Be sure to note all of the relevant support and resistance levels.

Then you are ready to trade

I think trading the ZB well requires some reflection on your personality temperament. How patient of a person are you?

I joke with one of my other friends who trades exclusively on the CL that comparing against his trading results like like the tortoise and the hare if ZB is on the docket for the day. He'll jump out 30 ticks ahead in profit in 5-10 minutes, and course course it may take me a few hours just to get that kind of volatility on the ZB. The flip side is his personality doesn't really allow him to sit patiently the whole day on a trend to capture 100-300 ticks on CL, that's why he likes the fast action so he can make the analysis, pull the trigger, and call it a day.

With ZB, and without that choppy volatility, you really have to not only be patient, but also more importantly get the direction right because you may not get another chance at the directional call for the day (unlike crude where it may revisit a price in a 25 tick range 5-10 times in a single day).
