Lance, your trading has inspired me.

I have been trading for about 10 years, and I have not been successful. I have thousands of hours of chart screen time using all different strategies and indicators. I've trading everything. Futures, forex, stocks, options, you name it. Yet, no matter what I have tried, I have not been successful or profitable.

I absolutely love your style of trading. It is fast paced. I am a gamer so I love the fast paced action that your style provides. I would have never thought that a 2-range line chart would give the type of market and price action that I am seeing. I am attempting to mimic your charts in Thinkorswim. I am working on finding an indicator that creates the magnet-lines of the swing highs and lows.

I am going to read this whole thread from the beginning.

Thank you. I appreciate your comments. I feel like my gaming experience (mostly first person shooters like Unreal Tournament) has been in some ways conducive to my current trading style. They both rely on processing fast moving information and reacting in an instinctive, decisive manner that comes from hours of playing (or trading.)
If you do decide to read through the thread, please keep in mind that my system has evolved considerably since the beginning. I do however, use basically the same charts. I think that has been helpful, because I am seeing the market on the same type of chart setup for many years. Many people frequently change their charts, bars, timeframes etc..so they don't see price moving from the same perspective.

Made some mistakes early on by failing to recognize the chaotic price movement of NQ. I ended up having to switch over to YM since it was moving a little smoother.

@ tdmtrader and Lance, I'm an old school gamer so I'm not afraid to ask how old you guys are? Been out of the loop for a while but recently picked up a FPS (well kind of... Fallout 4... I know, I'm old, it's all NPCs and I suck but hey it was on sale LOL) ...have been enjoying the hell out of it.

Dayum dude we might be around the same age... in my mind I used to look like that Nah, just had the fire going when I was young and played a lot of sports, swim team/track/baseball... nowadays my sixer is reasonably insulated by beer @ Grantx... It's been a long time and a major investment haha. I probably have as much muscle mass today as your left quad in that pic lol.

Wow you were ripped back in the day.
Do you ever forget your age? I do all the time, not because I care about it but I legit don't know what it is when people ask. What's with that or is it just me?

Lol @Rrrracer ....as long as you see yourself like that in your minds eye that's all that matters maybe just steer clear of mirrors

I started out with Duke Nukem. Then Quake. Then Unreal Tournament. Nowadays i play starcraft when I'm in the mood.

It may have been an exaggeration, I do get plenty of physical activity, but a workout regimen that involves more than 12oz curls certainly wouldn't hurt anything

Yes..I do forget sometimes, especially since I just had a birthday in November. I try not to think about it. I pretty much still train, eat and do everything like I always have. Just the results don't come very easy these days. Haha
