Hello,
I use SierraChart as trading platform.
Currently I use AMP as a broker. Since they do not offer Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing (https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartDirectOrderRoutingService.php ), I plan to choose another one.
Absence of not offering Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing, I am not completely satisfied with AMP services. I am disturbed by following points :
- Incomprehensible Trading Statement
- Weak Customer Service Platform
- Insufficient tools to implement risk management limits at broker level (daily risk limit, max. number of contracts ) + difficult to monitor risk limits --> Actually you have to chat with customer help desk in order to implement limits.
My desired broker would offer following services:
- Clear and easy to understand Trading Statement
- wide variety of risk managment tools, which can be implemented at a broker level comparable to tools prop firms use (daily risk limit, daily draw down limit, max. number of contracts per ticker, ...) + comfortable way to implement and monitor risk limits.
Who can say anything about those dersired services offered by following brokers (which offer SC Teton):
Stage 5 Trading (Broker)
Edge Clear (Broker)
Ironbeam (Clearing firm)
Trade Pro Futures (Broker)
AGN Futures (Broker)
Canon Trading (Broker)
Sweet Futures (Broker)
DeepDiscountTrading (Broker)
Optimus Futures (Broker)
Advantage Futures (Clearing firm)
Dorman Trading (Clearing firm)
Phillip Capital (Clearing firm)
thanks in advance.

I'm using Stage 5 Introducing Broker with Advantage Futures Clearing Firm. Excellent combination supporting Denali data and Teton order routing for Sierra Charts.

I found internal Sierra Chart risk management useful:
- Global Profit/Loss Management
- Symbol settings: Global Position Limit and per symbol Trade Position/Order Quantity Limit.
Sure, one must refrain from giving in to the urge to unlock these settings during the session: this is the weak point of a client-side risk management device.
However these settings are cumbersome to unlock; this can give the opportunity to step back and ask am I really doing this ? Or should I better call it a day ?
Just my 2 cents.
Happy trading

the main benefit of broker or exchange level risk management is in the event of client system failures, you have a level of guarantee your active order won't be exposed to unlimited risk.

thanks. I am aware of this SC Global Profit/Loss Management. Actually I worked with a programmer in order to get a more enhanced version of this SC internal risk management. here is the result (https://forgivingcomputers.com/announcing-advanced-risk-management-tool/ ).
But truth is - as Arch said - in order to really avoid tail risk (either technically or human behavioral based), broker or exchange level risk management increases your level savety dramatically. therefore I am looking for the best available broker based solution for retail clients...
