Was wondering how Ninjatrader Brokerage rates with regards to slippage , trading on ES and MES .

I have a lifetime license with Ninjatrader and I use their Brokerage . I scalp , so targets are like 3-5 ticks . I know Slippage is always an issue but was wondering if there is other brokerages that have LESS slippage ?

Or does it not matter what broker you use , because NT8 will always have the same amount of slippage regardless of the broker you use , the slippage comes down to what software platform you use to trade with , so the broker has nothing to do with slippage ????

Thanks ,

The major cause of slippage has nothing to do with either your broker or your trading platform, but with the orders on the exchange, which are executed in an automated process that matches buys and sells.

Let's say you submit a market buy order. It arrives at the exchange and goes into a queue with other buy orders ahead of it. As sell orders from other traders are matched to the buys ahead of you, the queue is whittled down and it will get to be your turn -- unless there aren't enough sell orders to be matched to the buys in the queue at that price. Then the price will have to be ratcheted up to find more sells to match to the buy orders, which may include yours, and you may get a higher fill than you expected. The imbalance in orders gives you the slippage, which will be greater at some times and in some markets than in others.

It will also take a small amount for time for the transmission from your platform to the exchange servers. (Orders generally go through the networks of third-party firms who provide this service to many brokers, and who are usually not part of either the broker nor the firm that makes the trading software. There are exceptions, but this is a minor complication anyway.) Transmission times will probably not be a factor for you or most traders -- although it is for a small few, for whom differences in the millisecond range matter.

For regular traders, the exchange processing and the amount of orders available at any one time to be matched to you at your expected price is going to be the important factor, which will not depend on your broker or your trading platform.

What is going on with Ninja today????? I have sent multiple emails that I cannot login to my account. I realize it's a holiday, but the market has been open for several hours and still no reply.
Error message every time. Tried on two computers - same thing. Trace file show login to CQG is the problem.
SOMEONE PLEASE READ YOUR SUPPORT EMAILS.

Damnit.

I finally called the emergency trade desk. They're supposed to send a new password reset. Ninjatrader must be on the ragged edge of bankruptcy. No one works there.

As of this morning, no one has responded to support requests. What a miserable company.

I am sorry for your poor experience. When I saw this (and prior) posts, I escalated immediately and was told that our team was in touch with you this morning and your case is resolved. Please let me know if this is not the case.

No excuses here, we should have done a better job.

Yes, someone contacted me this morning. Last night I contacted the emergency trade desk. They sent a new link to change my password. That worked and I was able to login.
Still a mystery as to why I couldn't login with my old password. Worked last week. I didn't change anything.
Anyway, problem solved.
Thanks.

I've had no problems with Ninjatrader and highly recommend them as a brokerage .
