Disclosure: This communication is sent to you by NinjaTrader, LLC, a software development company which owns and supports all proprietary technology relating to and including the NinjaTrader trading platform.
You don't have a lot of options for brokers if you use the NT platform, because NT, the company, operates its own brokerage and, with the exception of a very few others, including IB, basically wants the platform to be used with its own firm. You can look on the NT web site for the brokers they currently support, but if you have questions about IB, you probably are pretty much left with NT Brokerage.
Regarding the two, and there may be others I'm not familiar with (again, see their web site), IB has a very good reputation with some users and others have their issues. You can look at reviews and a number of threads here on futures.io for different opinions. (Use the Search function at the top of every page for some help.) I have never used them and can't say one way or another. I will say that a very common issue is that their tick data aggregates ticks so you don't get accurate data. This has been a complaint traders have had for a long time, and as far as I know it has not changed. You may want to do some digging on that score before deciding.
You can also find reviews and comments here on the NT brokerage experience. There will be pluses and minuses for everything, obviously.
Someone else may want to weigh in here with more direct experience.
Bob.

It seems not uncommon for people using IB as a broker will buttress IB's data offerings with Ninjatrader's CQG Continuum data service for futures data and if trading stocks then pay more for Kinetick.com's data service.
Yep, I never had any problems or issues using multiple brokers and data feeds simultaneously with NT8.

I'm not too excited about the Ninjatrader Clearing venture. I liked Phillip Capital. I only had one instance when I needed to speak to the trading desk, and they were pretty great. Ninja has earned my trust, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, and see how it goes.
