Hi Team,

Does any know whether TD Ameritrade (Think or Swim) is available to non-US traders?
Specifically those in the UK ?

Thanks !

hey mate ! thanks !

that's good to hear, have you or do you know anyone who has actually done it from the UK ?
When i tried to open an account via the TD Ameritrade website, I got a msg saying:

We can't open your account at this time.
As a US-registered broker-dealer, TD Ameritrate does not open accounts for residents or certain countries.

This is from their website regarding opening a account.
"This is not an offer or solicitation in any jurisdiction where we are not authorized to do business or where such offer or solicitation would be contrary to the local laws and regulations of that jurisdiction, including, but not limited to persons residing in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UK, and the countries of the European Union."

Hm! sounds like a very long and winded way to say: you can't open an account (TD/ThinkOrSwim) from these countries..

I've read similar statements because these restrictions apply to German citizens as well, but I've read as well that you should contact customer support in order to open an account despite of these restrictions....should be worth a try.

Sorry, didn't want to mislead you, apparently it happened with the change of regulations in 2018.
If it's just not about their platform I think you should try IBKR if you want to trade shares, if I am not wrong they lifted the minimum account requirement
