@NinjaTrader what happened to the FCM shift? Never happened to my account

"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."

I used to feel the same way until I figured out how NinjaTrader works best. Now I have very close to ZERO problems with NT8 and that's using the same workspace for many months without issue.

Here is a few of the best ways to use NT8 I have found:
  1. Always start NT8 in an empty workspace.
  2. With NT8 open in this empty WS now connect to data.
  3. Once connected to data now open any WS(s).
  4. Always have a CPU meter running breaking down each process and monitor NT8 this way. I use Process Hacker, its little floating taskbar widget just showing the top three processes.
  5. Make sure NT8 is done with whatever task it is currently doing, by watching how hard it is working in the NT8 CPU "meter" percentage, before asking it to do something else.
  6. For example: if a WS is still loading (you can tell by monitoring NT8 CPU%... it will be ranging around between 15-95% and done when leveled off for about 20 sec in the normal range for your setup) DO NOT ask it to open a new chart or any other "thing"....UNTIL it is done loading the current WS.
  7. Apply these same principles to everything you do regarding NT8.

Ron

Another guide I found suggested

a) Always deleting your database

b) Never using workspaces, but simply loading templates

c) Deleting historical data daily

While this and your proposed method (I may check it out, thank you) may work, I don't think this is an acceptable standard for a modern day trading platform. It should work out of the box without having to be a 'techie' or developing special methods for being able to use it properly.

My issues with Ninjatrader started with NT8. It was supposed to be an improvement, but I just don't see or experience it. It's been a major disappointment.

Does Infinity Futures exist these days? A search engine brings me to the Ninjatrader website when entering the Infinity Futures search results.

No. Transact Futures, which owned Infinity Futures, was bought by NinjaTrader and became NinjaTrader Clearing, which is now Ninjatrader's FCM. There is no separate Infinity Futures after the acquisition.
