you can not internalize Futures orders. Futures trade on one centralized exchange (nymex, CBOT, etc)...all orders must be placed on the exchange. Even Clearport orders are recorded at the exchange. Internalizing orders may be common place for FX brokers, because they are the broker and exchange but not futures.

I do not think you are correct.

The head of IB quoted saying they didn't internalize as much as others internalized.
It's not a question of a central exchange or not.

internalize which orders? They are probably referring to equity option orders. Futures order are centralized at the exchange.
