ib Broker alternative covering CoT contracts (currencies, commodities, indexes)
The first broker to come to mind is IB as they are generally known for wide coverage.
However, I'd like to hear more options. In particular, I'm interested in counterparty risk.
Also, a broker in a country with a healthy banking system, possibly muslim, possibly china, would be good. Just somewhere away from uk/USA/oz would be interesting even if not viable.
Only making 1-2,trades a month. ~£500-£1000 to risk at a time. Example symbols interested in: platinum, oats, soy, lean hogs, GBP, dow500, 10 year treasuries.
I still don't have permission to post in any other forum. So, hi. UK citizen but as I say, interested in brokers around the world.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
UK brokers offer much better protection than brokers in Muslim countries or China. China has not yet opened up to foreign investors, so the only places to go would be Hong Kong or Singapore.
And then do you think that a broker in a muslim county is the best address for trading lean hog futures?
Or do you think that China has a healthy banking system?
And then you only mention US traded futures, as the futures contracts you listed are all traded at CME/NYMEX. With a muslim or Chinese broker you will not only lose protection offered by European and US regulators, but you will also considerably deteriorate your fills.
