Hi, I recently opened a ninja brokerage account. So far so good. However, I stopped using kinetic for data and no longer have live prices for individual equities on either the NYSE or NAsdaq..
I would prefer not to use kinetic, anyone have any suggestion on how to get live equity prices (FYI, i do not trade individual equities)... Just want the live prices to help me trade the Index futures.
Thx

add some restriction on server like limit of maximum open position for futures,
or limit maximum order size?

Without knowing why, it is hard to make a recommendation. IQFeed (and thus, Kinetick) is generally the best you can get. If it doesn't fit your needs you would need to provide details as to why so someone could make a recommendation.
@Big Mike...I don't want to get kinetic because they would charge over $60 a month for the data ( they require u to get the basic package...CME data..which I don't need from the anymore)). I am looking to spend less than 60a month.
I was hoping to find equity data for just $10 to $20 a month. If that is not possible, I may just go back to kinetic. Tough to trade nq when u have no live aapl prices.
Thx

The following user says Thank You to tflanner for this post:
You are not required to get CME data if you don't need it. You are required to pay $55 per month for the service plus the exchange fees. Compared to any other market data service, Kinetick is about 1/2 price.

I do have an HSA account with TD Ameritrade...but the quotes are very delayed. I will have to take another look at it. I do all my ETF/stock trading with Vanguard. Not sure if I am on the Think or Swim platform though.
And no I don't need equity. prices with ninja. TD Ameritrade would work and good to hear they have the internals as well.
definitely Think or Swim platform. I should have said that.
It is a separate program you download to your desktop.
Download it from TD Ameritrade web site.
I would not use any of their web based applications.
They also have a live chat room with video feed and a host that keeps The indexes updated with overview of internals on the S&P. It is great if you trade the indexes. Just listen to it in order to keep an eye on the market internals so you dont have to constantly check them yourself. It is very helpful to have on in the background. HE also alerts you to active stocks and movers.
The trade size would simply be the same as the position limit. These are the maximum position/trade sizes allowed under our standard template and assume you have the available margin for those maximum limits. For clients that require higher limits, they would just need to apply for approval by emailing brokeragesupport@ninjatrader.com.

Looking forward to the possibility of a FCM with a useful client portal. Having the ability to verify current trade and balance info without having to wait for a statement to be emailed is important in times of extreme market activity, internet disruptions, and hardware/software crashes, among other issues. Even under normal circumstances, a client portal is nice to have for peace of mind.

As there are security flaws in Windows, and windows gets hacked constantly. Is there away to lock NT from launching or starting without a password. I do not see that basic important option. Specially when NT connects to different brokerage accounts and any one who accesses the PC can trade without permission on purpose or by mistake. This is a risk.
I am not sure if these is a way to lock the program down from opening without a password. If these is I would like to know how.

Hi, I'm opening unofficial NT8 wish list thread! Since Ray has been so good to us with his presentations etc, I thought we'd compile a list and pass it on to Ray through BM.
I really would love to see ACH Transfers in and out of NT Brokerage - Wires are a hassle and expensive. I also see that the brokerage we don't talk about here (hint rhymes with "CAMP") has added this recently.
The following 2 users say Thank You to dnof for this post:
That would be a really great feature, but I believe it's up to the FCM to implement. Not a lot of them offer this, but aside from the one you mentioned, Phillip and Ironbeam come to mind as two that do. I'm not holding my breath on Dorman to offer this anytime soon.
Based on customer feedback, NinjaTrader Brokerage has further reduced margins for Crude Oil (CL) and Gold (GC).
Effective September 29th, day trading margin requirements for these contracts have been lowered to the following:
• $1000 for Crude Oil (CL)
• $1000 for Gold (GC)
NinjaTrader Brokerage offers aggressive day trading margins on all contracts including $500 per contract for the ES and the 6E.

In the interest of completeness and transparency I hope you keep that PDF updated. It's a great resource, with all the exchanges, all the contract symbols (with hyperlinks to the details of each), and all their margin and commission costs in one easy to read place.
@NT Brokerage , @NinjaTrader ,
Would you also please consider to lower intraday margin for Euro Stoxx 50 (FESX) ? Right now you have it at 2070 € (89% of overnight margin)
For comparison,
AMP Futures has it at $500
TradeStation at 562 €
DeepDiscountTrading at 594 €
The following 3 users say Thank You to SARdynamite for this post:
Do you have the FGBS intraday margin higher than initial margin on purpose ?
I wish you would give all margins in the contracts' base currencies : in that case EUR for EUR based contracts. Most of the time, it makes sense for the targeted audience, making it more practical, less confusing.
The following user says Thank You to SARdynamite for this post:
Our focus on lowering the day-trading margins means we need to consider easy and effective ways to monitor risk across multiple technologies and exchanges. By moving the day-trading margin to USD, we were able to lower the day-trading margins from 3450 Euros to $2500 on the FDAX. We understand it could be a bit easier for the customer if it was in Euros, but we had to balance that with the requests for lower margins. Same concept on the FGBS, as the consistency with FGBM allows for easier risk management.
We certainly want to consider all aspects to these requests so we appreciate the feedback.

The following 3 users say Thank You to NT Brokerage for this post:
Thanks for the explanation.
Some competitors do have both though - low margins labelled in the contracts' base currencies - which led me to higher expectations.
FDAX intraday margin was already dead low. Hopefully you can again review the FESX intraday margin some more, at a later time anyway. Thanks
Is it possible to access the CQG Webtrader and/or CQG mobile trader as a NT/Continuum custumer? If not, is it possible to login to the same account from 2 different devices (for example pc and notebook) simultaneously? (I trade from Thailand and have occasional power/internet outages, so I need a backup solution that allows me to access my account through a backup notebook with 3G mobile internet access)
I installed NT on different devices. If you login Continuum connection from another device the before logged device will be logged out so if you have an power outage you can login with your mobile device (if NT is there also installed and connection login data is setup correctly on this second device).
It´s important to have a backup solution with another internet line (e.g. mobile) and also with another hardware because your trading PC can break down also.
The following user says Thank You to resist for this post:
I can confirm what @resist says, the second login will force a logout on the first device, so yes, you can access the account from a backup or parallel access point, but not with both connections active.

Yes, but I prefer being logged in to my account simultaneaously on two devices, one of them being a notebook with 3g mobile internet connection. In that case, I can immediately react in case of power outages or problems with my main internet provider. Having to first login on my backup device is just another delay that I want to avoid.
So if CQG M is available for an extra 25 USD, what about the normal CQG Webtrader? Can I access my account through the webtrader without additional fees? And could I possibly get a second set of credentials, so that I can login to my account simultaneously through NT and a webbased application? Could anyone from NT respond to this? Thanks
I use NT ( life time lic) and NT brokerage for trading, I am not able to use the log in and trade via Multicharts ? How do I enable my NT brokerage login credentials to work also with MC ? Will there be an extra charge to do so? I am using CQG -Cpntinuum as a data feed.
You can login to NT and either CQG M or WebTrader simultaneously, which is done by setting up a 2nd login. The costs involved are $25/month for access and $0.25 per contract if you trade using the alternative platform. There is also a $10/month additional login fee. The process to get this setup is to email brokeragesupport@ninjatrader.com.

This would require a 2nd login, so the cost for this is $10/month. There is a $0.25 per contract charge for Multicharts on CQG-Continuum, with a minimum of $25 per month.

I opened an with Ninja Brokerage. I funded the account today via wire which was confirmed as received. I have been struggling the entire day to get setup on the platform which I have been using for years. First, the login information sent today didn't work. Then Continuum wasn't listed in the dropdown. Then I get an email that "when I fund the account, I'll receive the correct login information". I sent an email back immediately that the wire was acknowledged by Ninja this morning. I have called, left messages - was assured someone would call back. Called again - now they're closed, they don't know where the hell my funds are and no one responds.
The people who answer the phone are incompetent. I'm furious with them. Maybe they're doing too much business and just don't need another account.

Sorry for the experience. Please email support @ [ninjatrader com) attention James and include your contact name on your account long with email address on your account and we will follow up and square things away 1st thing in the morning.
For the account connection to appear in the dropdown menu you probably need a later version of Ninja to see it. I had to upgrade from 7.x.x.11 to 7.x.x.26.
Thanks to the Ninja Brokerage management for working out these problems. They took the bull by the horns and worked it out. Thanks for the prompt response!

Is NT brokerage going to introduce the basic data package in January as mentioned earlier in this forum, the reference is to the package which does not include the debth for non professionals traders. The cost is guess is $3 per month as per cme.
The following user says Thank You to optionzen for this post:
The ability to offer a basic data package is in the control of our ISV partners CQG and Rithmic. Our understanding is that they are working on offering this capability but we have not been given a timeline when it will be ready. Once it is, NinjaTrader Brokerage will offer this to our clients as we think it will be a great way to reduce the impact of the pending CME market data fees for those traders who do not require market depth.

Can we get UB (Ultrabond) added as a product available to trade? If yes, can you give an approximate time until that product is available through Ninjatrader? Thanks.
While this market (UB - Ultrabond) is not part of our standard account setup, it is available upon request. Day-trading margins are $1000 per contract and it is available on both Continuum and Rithmic. If you would like to request this market be made available to you, please email brokeragesupport@ninjatrader.com with your name and account number.

I am wondering how this lasted communication affects my costs as a lifetime license holder of NinjaTrader? Does this mean I only need to pay this fee and there is no minimum required through NTbrokerage? Am I exempted from this fee as a Lifetime NT license holder?
Dear Traders:
Effective January 1st, 2015, all users of real-time market data from CME Group exchanges (CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX) will be required to pay market data fees. As a NinjaTrader Brokerage client, you can now customize your market data subscriptions to avoid any unnecessary fees from the CME.
To get started, please declare your trading status as a "Non-Professional" or "Professional" through the link below:
The majority of NinjaTrader Brokerage clients qualify as a "Non-Professional" and can select from one of the following market data subscription options:
1. Enable data for each of the CME Group exchanges you would like to receive at
a significantly reduced fee of $5/month per exchange.
2. Enable a market data bundle which includes all four exchanges for only $15/month.
3. Deactivate all CME Group exchange market data for your account to avoid a
CME Group data fee.
To ensure your account is updated, all self-certifications and market data subscription requests must be received by Wednesday, December 24th, 2014. Due to the required processing time, submissions received following this date may not be applied to your account in advance of the January CME Group billing cycle.
I just got these response from NT customer support, they said the NT Platform only support six brokers now. Does that mean NT will terminate all the existing brokers except the "six". If this is correct, this is a big change and I am confused.
Could someone clarify.

Hello William,
This is correct, these are the brokers we currently support.
This is a new fee from CME Group and does not change any other details/charges from your NinjaTrader Brokerage account. As your Introducing Broker, NinjaTrader Brokerage is simply informing you of these fees that are coming direct from the CME Group. The exchange is going to be charging all traders industry-wide that are enabled for CME Group exchange market data (regardless of clearing firm or introducing broker).
The reason for our communication was to help NT Brokerage customers avoid any unnecessary charges. In this email, we are providing a process to reduce these fees by selecting only the CME market data you need to receive for your trading.

When I have 2 accounts at 2 brokers (e.g. NTbrokerage and DDT or Global) - and if I told one of them full name, email address and my wish not to get any CME data because of own feed and declared my non professional state - is this meant with "same ID"?
Not sure how the other brokers handle things, but NT Brokerage would be able to eliminate market data on the user ID that you use to login to your live trading account. It would still allow you to execute orders, but you would not be enabled for market data on that specific user ID.

If you sign up with NinjaTrader Brokerage and would like to use Kinetick for access to greater historical data, then you will still need to pay for Kinetick as it is a separate service provider. With that said, you may qualify for a, “nonprofessional traders discount” on your current account significantly reducing your current subscription fees. For more information about your options you may contact Kinetick for more details: https://www.kinetick.com/support
For the MAE and MFE to properly function, your brokerage connection must be the primary connection (connect first). You will also need to set up your NinjaTrader Brokerage for real time data and then access historical data from Kinetick.
When creating your NinjaTrader Brokerage Connection within the Connection Wizard select (under Historical Data) “Disabled, I will use another connection for historical data.”
You will see this option under the General screen when you go to Tools> Account Connections> Add> Next
After the connection has been created, you will need to connect to NinjaTrader Brokerage first and then Kinetick second as connection order is important.
I wanted to have a second account with a separate broker for backup reasons. I decided to give NinjaTrader/Dorman a try. I have to say I am not impressed.
The issues I have with them are twofold:
No ACH withdrawls! You need to pay a wire fee or wait for a check. Not customer friendly in the age of always available online transactions.
Deposits are not credited until the following day. AMP credits your deposits same day and processes wires hourly. This is another strike against NT Brokerage.
I will be moving this account as soon as possible to another IB/FCM that is a little more responsive up to date with policies and customer service.
We expect to provide ACH capabilities soon, but do not have a specific release date as of yet. We will certainly make sure to announce this when it becomes available. We do have a firm policy of waiting for deposits to show on the customer statement before it is applied to your available trading funds. This policy is in place to avoid any errors that could affect a customer’s true trading balance.

If you have a Ninjatrader account with Ninjatrader Brokerage and you use the CQG Continuuuuuuuum connection, what is the best way to have an alternative/backup access in case of emergency.
Sometimes my NT crashes or my internet connection drops. In the past I always had the IB Mobile App where I could just login and go flat.
What is the best way to achieve this ?
A Ninja branded (ideally) very simple mobile app that can do the very simplest of actions in case of emergency.
It's not a "great" solution. Whilst I agree that the $25/month i.e. $300/year solution may be better than nothing .. it really is a steep price for a mere emergency backup.
I'm pretty sure your guys are absolutely dying to release an app .. wouldn't this very simple one be a good idea.
App Features:
a. Secured by PIN (chosen at installation time)
b. Connection Choice (let's say we start with just the Ninjatrader Brokerage accounts first :-) ) in Settings
c. Automatic login on startup
c. Home Page display
- Account Information
- last trade time/date
- current position
Well. It's certainly early days but being a futures.io (formerly BMT) Elite member (with all the benefits and indeed responsibilities that come with that ... i.e. "be nice" ..) is sure working out here.
Why do I say this ?
a. a quick broker switch (OK .. it wasn't quick .. it took some time .. ) and I've managed to (almost)half my commission & reduce my overall price information costs - I don't want to put a number on this .. but it's worth hundreds and hundreds per month.
b. I guess because futures.io (formerly BMT)/we are taken seriously ... you get a direct line to Ninjatrader and issues like my backup CQG connection get sorted out in minutes.
I know that the folks at Ninjatrader are busy with lots of stuff and no doubt treading the own brokerage/multi-broker system line carefully but it seems that there are benefits.
p.s. incidentally the CQG mobile "app" isn't an app. HTML5. Maybe even more flexible than an app... not sure. It's not bad at all ... and does the job.
