To clarify, an updated version (R20) of Continuum that does not require Kinetick will be available shortly.

The above is from @NinjaTrader in another thread referring to NinjaTrader 7 R20.

Do we have to pay a fee in the version 20 ?

For now , its 10$/ month and kinetick is 50 - 55$/ month

in version 20 kinetick is no longer needed.

from what I understand r20 is for RCG and Kinetick is not needed...r19 is for Dorman and you do need Kinetick

Clarification on Continuum:

NinjaTrader R20 and later includes
- Order routing
- Real time and historical data
- Server side OCO

NinjaTrader R19 or earlier includes:
- Order routing
- Real time and historical data through a required Kinetick subscription ( Kinetick - Streaming real time quotes and historical market data)
- Server side OCO

If you decied to stay or switch to RCG and with Qontinum and may be( Rithmic ) soon with NT version 20. you don't need kinetick service.
that's what I understood from ninja trader CEO webinar.

So if I go from Mirus/RCG to using RCG directly I can use NinjaTrader v20/Continuum?

What's the cost for Continuum? Is anything else required (I have a lifetime NT license)?

Nothing is required, Continuum is an option available for you to create a connection.

As a Dorman client, you need to subscribe to Kinetick data feed in order to get live data.

Continuum works only as an order execution engine by now.

1) You'll have to talk to RCG directly in order to get your account moved from Mirus.

2) You can use Continuum as a data feed as well as for order execution (requires NT .20).

3) If you own a Single Broker license of NT, you need to contact NT support in order to have them change your license from Zen-Fire to Continuum.

Do you have already a commission offer from RCG directly?

No, I'm with Dorman and they didn't contact me at all yet.

HI,
I use IB for stocks and options. I also have the following configuration to trade futures

1) NT/Mirus/Zenfire/Dorman

After the meltdown of Zenfire I have signed up with Kinetick and I am awaiting my Continuum reply (which has been almost 5 days now). In the interm I will trade with

1a) NT/Kinetick/IB

when Continuum gets activated and without having to purchase a multi-broker NT license or transfer my funds from Dorman I should also be able to trade futures with:

1b) Mirus-trader(webased)/Continuum/Dorman

I would like comments on this post. If this doesn't make sense or I am missing something during this confusing time please let me know,
Thanks,

As far as I know Mirus Trader is also still unavailable due to the meltdown.

And my guess is that if they ever make MirusTrader to work with Continuum, it won't happen for months (but most likely never).
OTOH if they will get Rithmic, that should work with MirusTrader right away.

From what I saw the cost for Continuum is $10.00 a month with RCG. And I think you will just have to email Ninja and let them know you are going to be using Continuum.

I need eurex as i trade also the dax.

Just my 2 cents

Hi All

Continuum

Continuum Connect -> Learn More

looks like it uses CQG Trader API - the very old and unreliable technology

https://develop.cqg.com/?page=ContinuumConnect

in this case the Continuum brand is just the trick

imho

Let me clarify:

- There is no trick, I have publicly stated in several locations including this forum that the underlying technology for both NinjaTrader CQG and Continuum is identical
- I have further stated that the difference between the two is branding and marketing

That being said...

- We don't use the CQG Trader API
- We use a proprietary API co-developed between NinjaTrader/CQG that is exclusive for NinjaTrader
- It's solid and has been in use by thousands on thousands of users each and every day for many years

the trick means - there is nothing new with it

but @NinjaTrader has explained the details.

I believe this to be the case however, some brokers may waive this fee based on min monthly trade activity. You would need to check with your broker.

I am speaking with Global Futures whom you recommended to me in another post, they want to charge a commision, a clearing fee (what I never heard before), exchange fees, and for continnum 10 USD monthly independent of trading/ not trading AND ,20 USD / roundturn!

I just saw this on Continuum's website. Can anybody confirm that a NT/Continuum/Mirus/RCG stack is currently operational, executing orders and getting live and historical data now?

Press Releases

I can confirm the following:

NinjaTrader through Continuum is currently operational at many FCM's around the globe including RCG and Dorman. Specific to Mirus, it is operational and they are transitioning clients to this new infrastructure bearing in mind that these are "all" their NinjaTrader clients and this will take some days.

Just updated to version 21 and set up the Continuum connection. Now all the GOM related indicators do not display. Maybe the upgrade to version 21 cause the .DAT files not to be read, I don't know. OFA tools not working with Contiuum alone either and not able to connect to IQfeed first then continuum..fun fun

Check the log tab for clues. My first guess would be the symbol names have changed perhaps, and your old files are not being found due to that. But am just guessing.

@neko333

As Big Mike suggests go to your Log tab, if you see errors that look like this:

Then you need to go to Tools>Options>Data and reset the Instrument List. You must NOT be connected to a data provider when you do this.

Then shut NT down and re-start NT and you should be good to go.

So if I go from Mirus/RCG to using RCG directly I can use NinjaTrader v20/Continuum?

What's the cost for Continuum? Is anything else required (I have a lifetime NT license)?

Hi:

Just finished the transition from Mirus+ZenFire+RCG to RCG+Continuum

Brian from RCG took care of everything and just received my new credentials to connect to Continuum.

Commissions and fees will be excat replication as Mirus, Data feed provided for free and the only difference I'm aware of is the margin (now is 25% of exchange minimums)

3 weeks after the meltdown, it seems I'm ready :-)

what will your continuum costs be?

any other fees, minimum number of transactions, other data?

what did it cost to transfer?

did you make a call or do it by email or use a web site?

was your account over a certain size or was there a specific minimum account size required?

were you required to apply to RCG again like any new account or was it transitioned?

Well, I only wrote an email to RCG directly and Brian took care of the process.

Paperwork: I only had to fill a simple form, scan and send it.

Cost: zero.

Commissions, fees, conditions, etc: will be exactly the same Mirus was charging me (because RCG was the clearing firm holding my funds, sending my statements, etc, I suppose they knew everything, right?)

No clue about minimum account size.

Brian was helpful and really fast with replies (I live 13 hours ahead of him). One of the emails was lost in cyberspace for any reason, so I got it two days later than supposed (not his fault), but RCG assistance has been good.

I will keep looking for other broker alternatives to trade FDAX, so I will split the broker risk in two. If anyone has another good working alternative, please let me know (preferably with Rithmic, to have both options).

I heard that Continuum supports a bunch of Asian markets.

- DGCX, HKEx, OSE, TOCOM, TSE, KRX, SGX, BMD, TFEX, SFE

Is there a full list of supported exchanges anywhere?

I presume each broker can decide which to support but this is a HUGE step forward for Asian Traders who previously couldn't get data for these markets even with a paid retail CQG data feed.

This is a big step forward IMO.

If you have any questions about the products or services provided, please send me a Private Message or use the futures.io "Ask Me Anything" thread

I called and Dorman told me that they will have soon. As far as I know, Dorman does not have Eurex membership so they would need to go via another clearer.

That depends on the clearing house and the memberships they have. Those who do not have direct memberships would need to find another clearer to go through. I would assume that most (Retail) US FCMs don't have memberships in foreign exchanges because they have low volumes traded by their customers.

Continuum Delivers Global Exchange Connectivity to Mirus Futures

Chicago, IL, January 15, 2014 - Continuum today announced its partnership with Mirus Futures, a leading online futures broker. This new agreement makes Continuum's hosted infrastructure, including its robust market data delivery systems and distributed exchange gateways for high-speed trade execution, immediately available to Mirus Futures' traders.

Mirus Futures, a Guaranteed Introducing Broker of Dorman Trading and registered member of the National Futures Association, is a full-service brokerage firm serving retail and professional traders. Now, through the Continuum partnership, Mirus Futures' traders using the NinjaTrader front end are supplied with streaming real-time market data, historical data, and trade execution.

Shodson...I was "live" on Contiuum Jan 13th. I checked Ninjatrader charts and logs (using Contiuum/Kinetick) until Wed Jam5th.... after which I took several small trades using Continuum. Everything worked fine.

Given Ray from @NinjaTrader said Continuum was just a marketing/brand differentiation of CQG, one would then assume the same exchanges are theoretically (subject to your broker/FCM) available:

any other fees, minimum number of transactions, other data?

what did it cost to transfer?

did you make a call or do it by email or use a web site?

was your account over a certain size or was there a specific minimum account size required?

When I emailed RCG they replied that with them directly account minimum is $5000 and $40 inactivity fee.

Mftkn View Post
No data for FDAX/FESX/FGBL for me with Mirus/Continuum.

AFAIK you have to pay extra for Eurex data with CQG/Continuum regardless of who your IB/FCM is (unless that IB/FCM is willing to cover that cost, what is very unlikely).

I just switched from Mirus+zen-fire+Dorman to Dorman+Continuum for my Broker and Clearing. The following is from an email that explained the fees.

Here is a breakdown of the rithmic and continuum ("white label" for CQG)

Rithmic:
No monthly fee and a 50 cent platform fee. $23 per month charge for Eurex live feed. ES starts at $3.92 (round turn)

Continuum: $10 monthly fee. 30 cent platform fee. $23 per month for Eurex live feed. ES starts at $3.72 (round turn)

Continuum offers eurex and ice (TF) right now while rithmic is still being rolled out and ill eventually offer ICE and EUREX.
No Charge for ICE data with Continuum

In a phone call he also said that there is no inactivity fee with either feed (I hope I heard him correctly).

I did need to fill out a new application with Dorman and they are transferring over the funds directly from Mirus.

It's NT Version 7.

No, you can't keep your Dorman account, Optimus clears through Vision Financial Markets.

I'd suggest to use the existing Optimus Futures thread and / or get in touch with @mattz to talk about further details regarding Optimus, just in order to keep this thread clean and dedicated to Continuum / CQG.

Received my new Mirus/Continuum login on Monday. Had to uninstall-reinstall NT21 to get it to work (per NT support). Everything seems to work properly based on my experience yesterday and today (in SIM). Have not tried Live yet.
Also getting TF feed, which other posts indicated would be delayed (?).

I have been up and running since Friday afternoon. Very stable this week, no disconnects or even so much as a hesitation at all. For some reason I cannot explain, orders seem to be handled quicker on Continuum than they were on Zen-Fire. I checked the log times, placing, moving and cancelling live orders and they are being ack'ed back instantly, somewhere in the milliseconds. With Zen-Fire I would sometimes notice a slight hesitation between placing or changing an order and it being acknowledged back to me.

Dear Traders

Can anyone please help me re: this?

My account was with dorman mirus zenfire and has been move to Mirus, Dorman Continumm then I did get email from Mirus stating that intraday margin for all product set to 20% margin. Can anyone explain me with examples for NQ and Cl what will be minimum deposit to meet intraday margin?

My question is how much minimum deposit do I need in my account for intraday trading 1 contract of CL and NQ to meet 20% intraday margin requirement? Also Can you please explain how did you count that minimum deposit amount?

Thank You for your help.

Yes, this is 20% of the initial margin. for example, CL I believe is $3,740 USD
so 20% for day trading is $748 for day trading.
NQ is 3,080 USD for initial margin
20% is $616 for day trading.

CME - ES Margin

E-MINI S&P 500 FUTURES ES 03/2014 4,510 USD

20% of $ 4,510 = $902 per contract

Anyone else noticing a slight lag when executing an order on continuum?

I have not noticed any unusual fills on stops, actually seems to slip a little less then Zen so far. I mainly trade GC, CL & NG.

It's just when executing entries there is often a delay before order fills. Is there a way I could check if latency is an issue?

Using speedtest many times internet connection is 100+ mbps down and 5+ mbps Up with common ping <10

Appreciate any advice. thank you~

Hello, I changed my account Monday to RCG + Contiuum.

The same account number before Mirus That?, Or a new account with a different number and different UserName maintained?

*
Constraseña sent me, but They have not sent me username, I will continue keeping the user name before I had at Mirus? and is new or not?,.

You know how it is now access to RCG account?, Formerly from page to Mirus and now?

Help please support RCG is very slow.

Best regards.

Hello FDAX traders,

I would very much appreciate if the traders, who trade FDAX at Mirus with Continuum could confirm briefly, that it is now 100% stable for trading in order to avoid a 2nd debacel.

Thank you

I had same issue on one pc , while everything works fine on another one ?!?......
Anyway,
I have asked NT support and they suggested me to
- remove NT
- clean internet browser and cache history.
- reboot machine
- download again NT

After this the connection works fine

Now the connection is OK.

I downloaded the new NT 21 and had a connection problem also, I thought I had to use CQG as provider. I emailed Ninja Trader and they added continuum as a provider with my lic key it only took a few minutes. It started working right away!
Thanks NinjaTrader. So if you put in new password and login and don't see continuum as a provider write Ninja Trader.
Even if you own a multi key lic.

Yes, I also trades from 15:30 to 18:00, but yesterday (monday) from 17:53 to 17:56 connection interruped (and also 2 times afer 20:00 a reconnect took about 2 - 9 minutes !). I dont know how NT maintains it, if I would be in live position ?

Anybody know if the continuum/CQG servers are collocated at the exchange for nymex futures ? I'm trying to figure out how low latency they really are compared to rithmic.
