honestly, what's the best setup for the cheapest rate for a round trip? i've been looking around and all these brokers slice their commissions in so many different ways.. it's getting confusing
i know mirus & optimus includes in their commission fees for the datafeed; where as, deepdiscountingtrading is cheap commission but does not include data feed/platforms etc
so does anyone have any idea what the best overall package is and who offers it if you're doing about 200 trades per month? keep in mind the data feeds...
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I found deep discount to be cheaper for me even though I have to pay for some of my data. I have never had a problem with them. It all depends on what platforms you want to use. I use Market Delta and Ninja.
First narrow down to the platform you want. Then, see what feeds could be hooked up to it.
Then compare feed and commissions on the same basis, and then think who you want to do business with long term.
If you are seeking broker, platform and feed ONLY based on commissions, I guarantee you will change brokers and platforms in the next few years many times over.
Matt

It would be very hard to find better service than Howard at DDT. Though it may not be the best fit if you are looking to use Ninja due to the TT fix connection.
NT is my platform, zenfire/ or rithmic are preferred data feeds, trading systems are fully automated and right now i'm trying to find a good fit for me as far as commission is concerned b/c i really dont want to be doing all the hard work.. only to make piles of commission for my broker.
mirus and optimus seemed like the choice for me as i want proximity hosting as well and they provide that service so it seems logical as far as "ease" is concerned
but their cost for a RT is almost 5$... per trade.. you make 5 trades and 5 of them go against you + commission... thats a pretty sh**y day, you know?
but discountbroker seems like a choice as well.. b/c their commissions are cheap.. however, (here's my question) when adding on hosting+paying for data feed+ platform fees (mirus and optimus offer free basic NT); is it worth to go to discountbroker ?
I pay .10 cents a contract for cqg data feed... As far as commissions they are lower than the non exchange member prices deep discount has listed on their website. You can ask them they are very transparent with their pricing... I went with amp because they are a clearing entity not an introducing broker. I really don't need customer support from a broker that doesn't really do anything for you anyway. This is why I don't agree with the introducing broker model. Go to the cftc website and look at the company financials for all of the clearing firms. Make your decision based on financials, policy, and ethics.
