Hello,

I would like ask someone if could recommend me some low cost API for futures markets (CBOT, GLOBEX, NYMEX, NYBOT, KCBOT). I only need get quotes.

It could be broker plaform which support access via API, but API must be standalone service, independently on platform.

I found Zenfire API but it's unsupported already.

Thanks in advance

I think the IQFeed API is the best match for your requirements.

As you specified low cost, I would say the IB gateway might fit the bill. You will need an active IB account, but the feed only costs $10 a month if you don't trade through IB during the month. Note though that the datafeed is slow and I wouldn't recommend it for scalping but it's serviceable for longer term day trading and position trading.

Koepisch: Thanks for tip - I will research it

erniebilko: As I know with IB is problem that gateway needs have running platforn. I need write app which will store quotes into DB (on server) and I will do analysis on this data. So it seems that it isnt good choice.

Thanks both of you

You don't need TWS open if you use IB Gateway. Which charting platform do you use? You don't need to store the data - you can use DTN Market Access for backfill.

I discover IB API and it have some limitation for example

Limited request for historical data

API and platform must run on same ip address - but this could be fixed with new account - new fees

PS: I tried insert links where are described these limitations but I don't have rights put link on this forum

I will try to use IB API, but let me know if someone have additional tip for next API solution

Thanks a lot

IB for historical data is probably the worst choice. Best choice is IQFeed.
