Hi people,

If you notice, IB is actually related to TimberHill, which is (correct me if I am wrong) a market maker, prop trading division.

Once I read about this, my first reaction is how safe my money with IB is. I meant if they have prop desk, then will there be a chance of MFGlobal type problems with IB ?

Hi @ssg10

This issue was discussed over a long period in different forums.
Timber Hill was founded 1982 and integrated in IB LLC group 2001.
