I am happy you raised awareness so that we can address it in its entirety upfront and hopefully avoid any confusion. First and foremost, we have the utmost respect for the NFA. They are effective in protecting the public as well as our interests in dealing with traders. This is a core value and vision of Stage 5 Trading.
From what we understand, most of the accusations towards Patel were regarding actions taken years before he was registered with the NFA as a broker. Regardless, this is neither here nor there as no matter the outcome from the investigation our aim is to provide continuity to the traders under Patel and to enhance the services they have access to. We are confident that the full truth will be brought to the surface from this investigation and we wish the best for all.
With that being said, the partnership discussions about joining forces have been in play well before any of these regulatory issues came to our attention....although they certainly have made discussions more interesting! Partnership conversations arose from the synergies that both IBs offered by combining forces. The next step in Stage 5’s development has been to build a direct discount division for some time which is something that Patel has built independently. With this acquisition of the discount brokerage solutions built by Patel, it is a win-win-win for all parties, we believe. We now have the capability of offering traders opportunities for additional services through the full service brokerage community of Stage 5.
As of April 1st, 2017, Patel Futures LLC will cease to exist and Stage 5 Trading Corp will be handling its business. At which time, Pratik Patel will not be joining Stage 5 as a broker. If you have any questions about this exciting news and what it will mean for you, please contact us at any time. We do not see any unusual baggage or issues relating to this move.
