Hi,

sorry for this useless thread, but could someone please tell me what futures broker offers at least a year of futures historical data on their demo?

Xtrader ttsim has only one month of intraday.

General speaking, brokers and broker level feeds don't specialize in historical data. It is the platforms (NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, etc) that offer historical data to their customers. That, or you need a specialized backfill data provider, such as DTN IQFeed or etc.

Thank you for a fast response!

Do you know how much of 5 minute and 15 minute data X_Trader or CQG IC have? I am interested in bonds (American, German, t-bond, bund). You don't have to look, I only need an approximate number like 6 month or a year. I hope it's not just two months. That would be my last question.

Thanks a lot!

I wanted a demo so I can backtest things without a need to open an account.

Someone else hopefully has a more precise answer. But top of my head, X_Trader is not really a charting platform, so I can't see why historical data would be useful --- and CQG I believe offers many, many years of data, at least as much as DTN IQFeed and possibly more.

CQG is one of the exceptions where they handle both platforms and execution/data. A solid solution. As for pricing, you might check out Velocity Futures, they post their rates on their website and offer CQG. Beyond that contact CQG directly or check their website.

With regards to demos, you can get a demo of X_Trader from Velocity without opening an account. I am not sure on CQG, but I would venture a guess that it too would be no problem to get a demo without opening an account.

Last, you may ask @yshterk as I believe he is a VP at CQG and can answer any remaining questions.

Thanks again,

yes, I have xtrader demo from velocity and there isonly two months of data. I don't need "charting" as I don't use any indicators, I only need data.

Again, thanks a lot. I will look into CQG demo, if it exists.

Many many thanks!

OK good to know. When I was using X_Trader, it was only for the DOM - no need for historical data, so I never even bothered to look. I will shout to @Dale Box as well just to get him to confirm that is correct and not some kind of problem or something that can be configured.

On CQG you have access to years of historical data. And with CQG API you can export this data into your application for analysis or use CQG's backtesting module.

I use Ninjatrader 7 with Zenfire and have a lot of free historical data using at the same time Kinetic datafeed.
