They use a specific rollover schedule, which may or may not be what you are using manually when rolling the contract near rollover date. It would only be an issue near rollover.

Mike

No, I discovered this discrepancy the same day which is Oct 5'th nowhere near rollover.. The prices on the charts should reflect the front month..

Mike, what OE platform do you use? I'm surprised no CQG users gave input..

My Rithmic chart shows exactly the same bars as IQ Feed so the charting information is the same, which makes this execution impossible..

Mike, what OE platform do you use?

I use Sierra Chart.

I'm interested to see what your broker says. And did you already state this was an entry order, a limit entry order to open a new position? It wasn't a stop order, right?

Did you post your execution log?

Did you confirm the order on your daily broker statement?

Mike

@Jedi

I will check tonight, but a picture of the chart I have at work for November Crude for Friday 5th suggests my feed from ZenFire (similar to Rithmic) via Mirus broker printed a low of about 90.26 at that point so 90.24 should not have been filled.

So low was 90.27, also confirmed on attached 30 second chart.

I heard it might be a compatibility issue with Sierra.. I'll give R-trader a chance which is Rithmic's direct OE platform.. It should connect directly to Rithmic unfiltered and give "one of the fastest executions" available.. If I get weird executions there, then I'm switching for sure..

What is this based on, that its a compatibility issue with Sierra? Did you ask SC Support to look into? How could an issue with the platform cause a fill where the market never traded?

They said its possible though not certain that it might be a compatibility issue.. They said they have not heard of other Rithmic users experience this and most have a good experience but most Rithmic users are on Ninja..

They're still trying to get me the time and sales on that trade..

I was asked to try the R-Trader to see if it helps but the guys I spoke with @ Vision said Rithmic should be comparable with CQG and if anything, might even be faster.. Not sure what to think right now so would like feedback from R-Trader users and CQG users..

What a weird experience..

This is very strange. I assume you get a daily statement from your broker--would you consider posting a screen shot of that part of the statement with the fill?

So possible, but not sure, meaning just a guess/not based on anything? Is it possible it's an execution error on their end, or are they not considering that possible? To be clear, 'they' here is the FCM, Vision?

I'd go to SC directly with the logs and get their take on a compatibility issue.

I suppose I can but this was a non-simulated trade on Sierra using direct Rithmic feed with a recorded time and price of execution on Sierra's Trade Activity Log.. I doubt I read the time or execution price wrong..

What I'm really looking for is feedback from CQG and Rithmic users, and now R-Trader users too and cant seem to find that kind of comparison feedback I'm looking for..

They're still looking for the time and sales but insists its not likely a bad execution because Rithmic is an excellent feed and sometimes exchange data might differ from chart data so they're going to check with the exchange..

For me, the trade would have been a stop out regardless but it does make me question my platform and data feed I'm using.. I don't like to have to think about this type of stuff during or after the trading day so I want the best tools available.. some say I have it and other say nah, CQG is still preferred.. I was hoping to get some feedback so I don't have to go thru a lengthy process to make my own subtle discoveries..
