Matt is great, he'll take the time to discuss trading and other things with you which is rarely found these days. You have to know which instruments you want to trade, and TOS won't budge no matter how much you trade.

ha?? no i'm the "normal" one i guess.. still can't figure out which broker to use. optimus seems a bit small for me. i'm worried about their support and account protection. although rythmic server sounds good, but that's the only thing that sounds good... i hate ninjatrader and i want oco to be handled by broker WHILE still have the orders resting on exchange. there are not too many brokers that offer it (which is very strange to me).
i was thinking about IB and even thinkorswim (if they reduce the ridiculous commissions). but IB has fill issues because stop orders rest on their servers and thinkorswim seems to have data issues... TOS actually has the best theoretical protection on order fills, most comfortable platform (to me - for what i'm doing) and best support i've seen in any other brokerage so far.. but the 3.50 one side commission is a deal breaker.. so i'm still debating. anyone can help??

Have you asked TOS about reduced commissions? I used TOS for several years and I did not pay their published commissions and since I still have an account there, TD Ameritrade has said they will honor my commission rate. It does not hurt to ask.

My focus is on:
1. Avoid the opening chop.
2. Honor stops
3. Ensure reward > risk on all trades

i don't know about optimus... everyone here is so fond of it... i'm not so sure i want to have such a close personal relationship with my broker in the first place. i prefer impersonal one, where i can demand things if i need to and not worry about hurting someone's feelings... or worry about loosing my privileges. broker is not a friend, it's an instrument for a successful business.
also there are only a few reps available with Matt being on everyone's lips... it kind of bothers me. i need to know i can reach a broker in the middle of the night if i need to, especially if ninjatrader is involved. i seriously doubt it's possible with optimus to reach someone within seconds at any time - consistently.

as far as tos goes, i talked them into giving me $1 option commissions and they gave it to my friends just because they said it's unfair that they gave it to me and not to them...
they do bargain when they know you are a going to bring them volume. $4 both ways is the best they can do on futures.. it still sounds like a lot these days considering how much i can get elsewhere, but if i can bypass ninjatrader hassle and not have to worry about anything - i'll pay. my comfort is worth that much to me.. we'll see if they can give me that rate...

if anyone can recommend someone other then optimus, or IB i'd appreciate it.

Yes, we get it.... that is because you are acting like you work for another broker and are trying to bad mouth Optimus.

i'm not sure how this forum works but usually people are entitled to their opinions and it looks like unless i have only something positive to say to promote optimus, my voice is not welcome here...
it's not me who is acting like i'm working for somebody...
i haven't said anything that wasn't true - everything i pointed out was what rightfully concerned me. i was actually looking forward for other traders to talk to me about brokers and perhaps reassure me on the optimus, tell me something about them that i might have missed taking into account. i was in fact seriously considering them as a broker at some point, that's why i tried talking about them here to get some answered from other traders. i haven't found any other traders who'd tell me something logical to reassure me - just attacks from people who are bias about optimus..
all this seems weird to me for a reputable blog...

i'm not sure how this forum works

As I said before you should leave the Optimus thread and go look for alternatives since you don't want to use Optimus.

When you continue to post the same stuff over and over, it's called trolling and is not welcome here.

Your last post was not asking for reassurance about Optimus, it was:

To find other recommendations - leave this thread, and look at the link I posted.

If you feel I am being hard on you, then I apologize - but my stance will not change. I have direct experience with some really terrible brokers who lie about their identity in order to try and stir up trouble for their competitors, so I moderate these threads very closely. For you to come on the thread after many people with a solid reputation on futures.io (formerly BMT) (unlike you) have given glowing reviews about Optimus, and for you to say that you don't understand that and then repeat your same remarks over and over, it is classic trolling.

So, stop - move on, etc. If you don't want to be here then I certainly don't want you here.
