Hi all, I need some help please. I have a live MT4 account with MB Trading and it works fine but to use range bars I need to add the EA and open another 1Min chart etc.. But I want to change to NT7 yet keep MB Trading.

I prefer Forex cash to Futures FX at this stage since with the smaller lot sizes I can better match my money management rules. Also MBT have good tight spreads 0.7-1.0 on the eur-usd plus being a ECN broker makes them fine for me.

But I have a problem......I use 3 and 5 range bars so when I connected my NT7 demo to the MBT Navigator demo feed and tried to load currencies (not Futures FX) they would sometimes load and sometimes not, very unstable. I contacted NT via their support forum and was told that this was a ongoing issue with the tick data supplied by MBT and NT had no date when this issue would be resolved. I also contacted MBT by chat but they, whislt friendly and as helpful as possible they did not have any advice since this was from their point of view a NT issue.

My questions.........1) Have any others had this issue with the NT / MBT / range bar combination? 2) Is interactive Brokers my only other NT / Forex cash / ECN / range bar combination.

I really don't want to leave MBT but this range bar issue is a deal breaker for me. Any advice or help gladly accepted...

Make sure that the range value is in 1/10 pips first (I.E. - 3 range = 30 range ) . I use NT 6.5 / range bars with MB with no problems at all so maybe try 6.5 .

btw - watch these guys (MB) when you use ninja because if theres any discrepencies , dropouts etc. etc. theyll blame ninja and youll be left holding the bag . I put all my orders directly on navigator and never had an issue with that .

Thanks Eric. So in the data box I need to enter 30 instead of 3...ahhh I'll try that now.

Never gave them the chance to . Speaking with them left me seeing that ninjatrader is your responsibilty if connected to navigator . Ive asked MB a few "what if" this happens questions and got open ended answers so I dont need to get burned to have confirmation . For my trading its unnecessary to trade through ninja because I dont trade often and its all on larger tfs . When I send my orders and manage them on navigator its on their servers immediately .

See this thread for some varied opinions on MB and how they handle problems when the heat is on . Overall I like them a lot but like I said I dont give them much chance to screw up .

Completed what you suggested and though I'm using NT7 this has worked. So I'm smiling though NT bring up that MBT has a issue has left me a bit unsure and I think I may need to try IB for my forex cash trading with NT7. Need to ponder a bit more before the change though.

Probably not the right place to ask but what is the smallest lot size IB allow for Forex cash through their idealpro? MBT allow $1000 lots even 10,000 with IB would be fine.....

For IB it's $25000.
Are you sure for MBT minimum ?
For me the smallest lot was $10000, not $1000.

$10,000 units are the minimum with MB , like Sam said . I suggest reaching out to folks that have traded with MB live on NT . Scroll around the link for the FF MB thread I provided Im sure youll meet up with someone lucid thats on ninja over there . A lot of chronic whiners I suspect vent on that thread but its there to publicly air out issues with MB .

Thanks for the feedback guys. I checked with MBT via their chat and copied the following.....

MBT MarkM: Hello, Welcome to MB Trading! How may I help you?
Hi Mark, Quick question, is $1000 or $10,000 the smallest lot sizes I can trade with MB?
MBT MarkM: 1,000

So its official, from the horses month $1000 it is. Perhaps its been changed recently, anyhow hope this helps.....
