I use IB. I've had numerous problems with them, particularly Booktrader. Would running orders through NT work better, or does anyone have a good brokerage they can recommend? The ones I've heard about have quite a few complaints against them.

Hi,

Yes I have had problems with IB fills as of late, especially in a violent market.
In essence I do not think that any other broker would be better in the "money time" than IB and I have tried them all.
Remember that robots are shooting now xxxxxxxxxxx amount of orders thus if you are not proximate to IB you will get some heat sometimes, however this is part of the game.
In normal times though if you have a good trade everything should be fine, try to avoid news events etc...

Hope this helps

IMO, bracket-trader is a must for any IB user. If I wasn't a Multicharts user, I would use NT.
Otherwise, search hard enough and you'll find complaints about all brokers. My personal belief is in most cases, the problem is usually user related.

Just to add my findings here:

- Button Trader is ways superior to Bracket Trader.
- NinjaTrader 7 / IB is working well.
- NinjaTrader 6.5 / IB was (and still is) sweomthing like a disaster.

You should have two broker accounts, for safety reasons. If one does not work, you still have a redundancy.

I wouldn't say Button Trader is ways superior to Bracket Trader. It really depend on what you need. I find bracket trader a lot easier to use.

IMO, for DOM, Bracket Trader blow NT away.

I use IB and haven't had any fill problems, even recently. Then again, I am not a frequent trader -- just a few trades per day but some of them in 'crunch' time. Fast executions and virtually no downtime -- can't remember the last time they were down or even glitched.

If you do day/frequent trading, I also highly recommend Buttontrader -- works only with IB -- one of the cooler pieces of software I've used.

Step over to Mirus / ZenFire / Rosenthal and you will be happy again. This combination for me is the best ever seen. One data stream, for me the one and only, one trading window >> Static Super Dom( the best you can
find ) no link necassary to anywhere anything handled by one broker.
I have done this step : Pure quality, that's what I say after one year.

Not sure where to put this. I am new I would like to grab my workspaces, charts and indicators from an NT 7 installation with one broker and move it to another NT7 with another broker. If someone could clue me in on what files to copy and move or any concerns about to NT7 on one machine. I would be grateful.
