Does anyone have information on where the order/trade servers are located for Interactive Brokers?
When connnected to IB (IB Gateway/Ninja), my PC connects to
gw1.ibllc.com (18.104.22.168) in New Jersey
gw2.ibllc.com (22.214.171.124) in New Jersey
gw1.chicago.ibllc.com (126.96.36.199) in Chicago.
I plan to trade futures (Energy/Metals). I am assuming that perhaps the two servers in New Jersey are quote servers and the server in Chicago is a order/trade server, however, perhaps they all are both quote and order/trade servers.

Need help? 1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first. 2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses. 3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make. 4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance. 5) Where to start as a trader? You should ask IB support directly.
It seems that since some time, the Chicago market gateway, which was only used for the paper accounts earlier, can now host the live account. From what I know, all these market gateways have the same role.
If you want to use the Chicago server, then you should ask IB support to move your account (which is in CT by default for US customers) to Chicago.
