Check AMP & Optimus. Pretty sure you will find neither have monthly or inactivity fees.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will contact them and see how to move my account.

BTW, has ANYONE been able to get the 'interim' Continuum data feed up and running by now ??

Yes, I received a mail from Mirus one hour ago.

BUT, it was without login data.

The fields for login name and password are empty LOL

What a fail!

Can anyone confirm receiving the mail without login data or is it just me?

...But at least it is some kind of a new beginning...

Just received Continuum login from Mirus.
Amongst other things their letter reads:

Continuum’s order execution is only available through NinjaTrader Standard Edition. Mirus is providing a free 2 month upgrade to Standard Edition for those traders using NinjaTrader Direct.
To take advantage of this opportunity, please email [email protected] including your License Key # and referencing the "2 Months Free Upgrade" through Mirus. You will not be billed during the first 2 months and can cancel at any time.

I'm giving Mirus a shot. There's not one bad thing I can actually say about them. Granted, they could've handled this one better, or so it seems... But somehow, I'm not prepared to bail so quickly on people I've been with for 2 years.

Well, since I've been with Mirus for more than 2 years now, during that time I couldn't say any bad things about them as well.

But as I already pointed out before, as far as I'm concerned they recently exaggerated their 'policy of 'non-information' and ignorance of their existing clients by far.
So, as a result, by evincing such an unprofessional behavior any confidence for further cooperation has been gone now.

But that's just me...

Well said jbarr,
I've been a Mirus for a little over 3 years now and can not think of one bad thing to say about their service and support - up to and including - the recent troubles brought on by the Zenfire changeover.
The move was likely a plan to improve performance [and more than likely to reduce their overhead costs] and was no doubt undertaken with the best of intentions. Unfortunately it seems as though they have wound up with both a programming and a public relations nightmare not too dissimilar to the Obamacare website.

I am honestly amazed at how incompetent the top management at Mirus/Zen have been throughout this fiasco. How can the same people who built such a great reputation over a number of years not realize the importance of a backup plan, or what would happen to their business when the data feed didn't work? How could they not know about problems of this magnitude? This isn't some small bug in the feed, it has essentially been down for weeks. Not to mention the unbelievably unprofessional way they treated their customers once the problems started occurring: not giving faster updates, ignoring emails and phone calls, and so on.

One thing I can say: I doubt that Zen-Fire is going to be 100% problem-free even when it does re-launch. How you trust people that were willing to go live with this type of buggy code and lack of fail-over capability? Can you trust them when they tell you that all the problems are now fixed, in a couple more weeks? It's too bad for the industry, because we always could use more competition, and Mirus used to be a great alternative. I hope other brokers learn some lessons from this, and that this kind of fiasco is never repeated by anybody. In any case, I feel zero sympathy for the top management at Mirus/Zen... they definitely brought this on themselves, no question.

Agreed. Earlier I suppose I was going a bit lighter on them. But if theres one thing I have learned in all this is to get my own back up plan knocked into shape so this can never affect me again like this. Its something Ive been meaning to do for a while now but now Im defo going to get it done, in the morning.

Hi Danny. Yes, it's been "stormy" week, to say at least. Long story short, Mirus zenfire stopped working (scaleability issues) and for the time being Mirus has offered the following alternatives, if your account is cleared by Dorman:

- NinjaTrader on Continuum
- Sierra Charts on T4
- MarketDelta Trader on CQG
- InsideEdge Trader on CQG or T4

If your account is with RCG, you either stay with Mirus and move to Dorman as FCM or elect to stay with RCG as your broker without Mirus. Mirus is now only with Dorman. There is also more information on Ninjatrader Support boards here NinjaTrader Support Forum (see especially "News and Announcements" section.

Hope all works out eventually!

From my understanding and someone please correct me if I am wrong, If you have a Mirus account cleared by Dorman you need Continuum and also Kinetick for the market data right? I may be wrong but I thought I read this.

My main criteria is I want something that's not expensive because I don't trade that much. with Mirus I was happy because I just needed 5 trades and there was no fee so that was easy to do.

so you're now with Dorman directly? what a pain this has been and it looks like Mirus may not survive. It's interesting that Velocity got out of the retail business last year and I wonder if that's a coincidence. Kind of strange. so my velocity account got closed and now I just have mirus and IB but IB's data feed isn't good..

if I can i'd like something with no monthly fee, low minimum trade requirement and a bid/ask that's good (doesn't have to be perfect).

True, there were a few months I was struggling before I got over the psych issues, but I learned something, when you are negotiating, don't mention your 5 per month periods, mention your higher frequency months. Once you start to be so honest, you're toast. I had only a couple of moths of 5 RT's, but for Nov & Dec, I was doing 15 to 25 per month. I sold myself short and now I have to wait until I get another chance to negotiate. Live & Learn....

Yes, in regards to the current status, that's correct.

As an alternative, you might ask them to transfer your account to Dorman directly in order to avoid the need for a Kinetick subscription.
