An off topic question:

My commissions for Zen-fire at Mirus was $3.80 for years, last year they raised my commissions without notice, to $4.22, how much do you guys pay for commissions at Mirus?

Sorry for the newbie question -
Can we open an account directly with Dorman and use Ninja Trader
OR do we have to go thru an IB?

Decisions are,

RCG would require me to apply for an account even tho I have them for my Mirus account, and I would have to use cqg, which i never heard of -- no firm idea on data fees, minimum accout size, margin, commissions, but thinking it would be the same since it's still Mirus

Dorman would be also applying for new account, and then some kluge sounding data setup -- no firm idea on data fees, minimum accout size, margin, commissions and still Mirus

Velocity, Optimus/vision, Cannon

will any of these match Mirus great deal on $RT, low monthly minimum trades, low initial account size, $500 day trade margins, ... ( I'm tired)

Locations vary from Texas, CA, & Chicago & one has NY office, that's nice, I'm in NY...

and some also can get me rithmic with NT... I'm charting this all out, but it's taking time, I hate having to get new broker, I've been steady for 3+ years... any help sorting this out is appreciated... been up since 5, I'll respond tomorrow

not going back to master trader or tradestation, yuk, slippage, high margin, etc.

As you guys deciding where to place your business, I wanted to mention something. One of our key employees used to work for Ninja, his name his John. He knows the software well, and can always provide support for those who seek it for NinjaTrader. When I heard he used to work for NinjaTrader I jumped at the opportunity to employ him.

To me John is more valued as an employee more than 10 sales guys who yell day pushing a product they know %^&* all about. Building a solid support team is a priority for me.

Matt

You can open an account with Dorman (an FCM) directly.

Dorman Trading

Top left hand corner.

But you may find fees and margins are not as low as some of their IB's.

I am still amazed that there hasn't been a single post from anyone at Mirus. We have NinjaTrader keeping everyone informed which is commendable. We have various other brokers offering alternatives. Yet not a single word from Mirus.

Mirus is a site sponsor (or was in the past), you would expect them to come on here with at least a daily update. At the time of this post, there have been 47 338 views of this thread. Yet nothing from Mirus, just one or two posts from Mirus customers of uninformative emails they received. As well as reports of not being able to get through to the Mirus call center.

Im not a Mirus customer but if I was one I would have left them by now not only for the actual zenfire issue, but perhaps more so because of how this has all been handled by them and the level of communication and transparency. That is not someone I want to do business with.

+1

I am a long-time customer of Mirus, who until now have provided excellent support (via Sean Reilly in my case).

This is a huge cock-up & more communication is needed. I am not interested in a Kinetick / Continuum solution, which is what Mirus are presently proposing.

Thank God I still have TradeStation.

This has been a great thread during a very tough time for a lot of us. I had an account with Mirus, but closed it last week. I decided to look at Optimus and have talked to Matt a few times over the past week about his company. He has been very helpful answering all my questions. I thought about a couple of other Future Brokers to do business with, but it really came down to feeling comfortable with someone who actually would spend the time to help me out. Optimus Trading has been in contact with me over the years even though I never did business with them until now. I've had a lot of other brokers contact me for a few weeks and than move on, but not Matt he has always stayed in contact with me.

Thanks to all who have shared here. Reading through all the posts made it easy for me to move on.

Thank you for your kind words. I am lucky to get decent guys like you.
Good times are ahead.
