Hello,

I noticed an alert when starting up Sierra Chart that advises CTS users to change the settings from "Fast Trade" to "Smart Trade".
I would like to know why we should use Smart Trade with Sierra Chart instead of Fast Trade. Is this only temporarily because you have problems with the bandwith? By the way, one of the things about CTS that attracts users, is unfiltered unbuffered data.

Thanks,

Malvolio

If you subscribe to CTS premium (ie trade over 500 lots pcm), you get the unbuffered data/faster price feed. Maybe thats part of the issue?

As for the other gent with the issue with ICE - maybe give em a call. Ive always found their support staff to be pretty good.

Thank you for your answer. As far as I know this has to do with the new FIX connection from CTS that SierraChart uses, which still does not work properly.

Hi Brian,

I appreciate your earlier comments about not wanting to imitate other vendors ladders.

With that in mind, how about adding some functionality not available in other ladders? I was thinking of a breakdown of the total volume column. If you could show a column of volume traded on/hitting the bid (ie sells) at each price, and another column showing what was traded on/hitting the offer (buys) at each price this could help traders a lot.

I second this. The only think like this I've seen is jigsawtrading's tools, which aren't available for T4. Though, you'd think something like this would be simple enough to add to the DOM - we're basically tracking buy and sell market orders at each price, nothing more. T4 already partially does this (market orders are shown on the DOM as they execute, but they aren't totaled @ price). This would be a very valuable supplement to the general 'feel' from watching the DOM I already have.

I sent CTS an email about it, but haven't heard back yet.

As far as I know Jigsaw will offer a tool for CTS in the future with this functionality. But it would be great if CTS could implement this itself.

yea, I had heard that too - but that was like 6 months ago. I didn't even know it was possible to do something like that in T4 as a third party.

It's a professional-grade platform, so I don't think it's too far off base to request this DOM feature be available right "out of the box", even if it ends up being a bit more stripped down than what we suggested. Thanks for adding your support to this idea, btw

Hello, I asked MotiveWave if they can possibly add CTS as data provider/broker since CTS already provide free API access. Here's MotiveWave's response:
No, they don't have an API for a data feed. I'm aware of the API you mention below. It is for building an application on their back end platform, not for connecting to data.

We have talked to them before and they are not interested.
I see MotiveWave as a promising new platform, and would love to see the combo with CTS data. Would you mind sharing any reasons you're not interested in providing connection to MotiveWave?

Thank you

We have never spoken to MotiveWave but we have no issue providing them market data. The API we offer is the same one we use so yes market data is available.

Thanks Brian

Is it possible to 'park' an order in the order book and submit it later somehow?

eg I may have a some orders I want to submit just before the close based on some condition. As the orders require parameter adjustments like GTC, Stop Limit etc they take too long to enter individually.

If I can set them up somehow, park them, then submit them with a click or 2 when/if needed it would be useful.

Given an order ticket from the quote window can hold several orders, maybe I could use that if there was the small modification of being able to submit only one of those orders - either from a right click on a highlighted order, or a button to submit all and another to submit selected???

Yes, we have an order type called "Q" for queued order. An Q order is help on our server until you activate it. If you decide not to activate you can cancel the order. This link shows all the order types. Order Types - CTS Wiki

Thanks Brian

The market history window will show the difference between hitting vs taking but we do not total the info. I can ask if that is possible.

Im in contact with them but to no avail, so far. I have never found that calling them was any more successful than emailing. YMMV.
