so true.

thank you guys for responding @Cloudy @mattz @Massive l @kevinkdog @cory

as i havent read a lot of bad reviews about td ameritrade, good to hear that there are satisfied customers.

of course a margin call is mostly self imposed, so the complaints about that dont count for me.

what really shocked me is: ThinkorSwim opened new, short VIX (Volatility index) option positions in the customer’s accounts.

as i always keep an eye on the statements i get from my broker, td ameritrade will not be an exception and solves this issue for me being a customer of td ameritrade soon.

I have been told dozens of times by those with multiple platforms, quote latency delay can be extreme even on average days.

Most use this platform for charting, option analysis, and execute trades elsewhere.

Hope this helps. Good Luck

I believe you will it find nearly impossible to find a broker without at least one ticked off customer who has gone to the regulators over some matter. If I saw many instances of such behavior, though, I might avoid that firm.

Big companies that have been around and are regulated by the NFA and all that, aren't going to steal your money. Just be wary of small, unheard of outfits that haven't been given the stamp of approval.

It's the trader, not the platform IMO. Personally, I haven't had much of a problem with delays or execution.
Here's my mentored student's stats day trading the /ES using the thinkorswim platform.
He's missing the average profit factor of his trades but I think the rest speaks for itself.
This is with 2 lots maximum. All in all out and all in, scale out.

$14,552 profit. $1212 weekly average.
106 trades - 26 losers. 75% winning average.
12 weeks.

My customers, and I am considered small...did not experience Refco, MF, PFG, etc because I like to clear places that I trust and know the people and not measure the size of their glossy brochure.

I was solicited by all the above to do business...They couldn't impress me with their offices, cars and the cheap knockoff Dali on their wall.

Shocked at your comments after everything this industry has gone through.

Matt

If I could figure out how to transfer my scripts to ninja, I would definitely be checking out Optimus, Matt.
I've given it a few attempts but with no luck so far. The main reason I want to try ninja is to run
my strategy through automation.

I appreciate the opportunity and definitely look forward to having you one day. I work with a few guys that I trust could help you with the code transition. All rule based systems could be potentially programmed in c#.
Additionally, Optimus now offers hosting solution in both Chicago and the new Aurora center.

???? I'm not sure what to say. Let me try to rephrase my original comment: most businesses, both large and small, are legitimate. But the odd scam is hardly going to go through the trouble of registering with the NFA, SPIC, etc. ... So what I'm saying is that if you open an account with a firm that's registered at those places they're definitely not going to "steal" your money. I think that was the concern of the original post that I was responding to
