Ok I'm done at this thread. I posted the results you asked for.
Last attachment here. No problems with ping. Apparently no
problems regarding my Verizon DSL.

Yup cool, so maybe send the speedtest and pingtest results to barchart saying "try again".

Michael,
yeap, I've heard, however I'm not programmer and not sure about that, but...that info was that your internet speed somehow can affect correct work of charting software.
So, I interested in all info about that.
Have you tried to ask Barchart to help you solve that issues in order to ran charts correctly even on your connection or they stopped their support just mentioning speed is not enought?
Krgds,
Andrew

This is the e-mail I got from BarChart. The problem could
very well be that I don't have high speed cable.
I don't plan on spending more at Verizon to get a faster
speed at this point, therefore I still don't know for sure
what the problem really is.

See if you can open up the band width of the DSL service. Verizion has a pretty stringent filtering system that could be bouging down your feed.

Mike,

how to know more about possible problem with virtual memory ?
+
I'm wonder if internet connection speed can affect historical data on charts, I've heard something like that and trying to know more about it however, now it's not quite clear for me how it correlates. Ok, all clear with realtime data and say loading/pulling up of charts or switching timeframes.
I've saw and also faced that some charts need to be "updated" frequently even during realtime, i.e. they loads data, then, when you "refresh" them they slightly corrects data (bars), it seems it deals somehow, if I'm not wrong, with backfill, but I've just discovered that issue and trying to know more about that if that good or bad and what stands behind that, reason.

P.s. thank you for that forum !

Krgds,
Andrew

The pingtest.net is probably most important and you didn't attach

From the rest, the bandwidth/ping/internet connection does not seem to be too terrible.

Running out of virtual memory on the other hand is bad. Still, this thread is getting very, very far off topic...

You should create a new thread if you want to continue troubleshooting this.

Mike

Yeah, I'd really like to know if anyone has general opinions about Barchart service? I'm just signing up for a trial as I like the versatility of their package, but I can't find much as far as reviews. I'm leery however, about IB data feed as I'm sure you know they don't provide Tick Data (it's bundled snapshot data). Thanks.

Has anyone in the forum had experience with barchart data? Would love to get some feedback.

Cheers
