hi big mike, if amp service so bad, then why did they win the silver award this year for best broker?

i think that there is always a few caes where some one does not like the way the service is provided, like when i call my cable company when my movies do not work, but it does not mean that this makes the company not the best choice.

all i know is that they have always helped me when i called and i asked my broker about futures.io (formerly BMT) and he said AMP does not recommend any customers to go to futures.io (formerly BMT) due to the extreme bias you have towards AMP.

I have to agree with him, i read the broker threads to find out what is going on out there and see if any one is offering better deals and you always stick up for other brokers, such as optimus, mirus and velcocity. so amp really can not be that bad if they won best broker award over optimus and velocity.

i have had great experience with AMP. I use ninjatrader with CQG and i love it.

i wish you peace in your heart

rafiq

Amp was banned for the way they conducted themselves on the forum. He received multiple warnings from me, in private, but ignored them. It had nothing to do with protecting other vendors. That is a victim mentality. It had to do with not allowing futures.io (formerly BMT) to turn into other forums were rude posts and fighting are common place, and information exchange and helpfulness are nowhere to be found. I don't care who the poster is, vendor, member, elite member, whatever -- when they start being rude towards others, they are banned. Period.

You are free to disagree with me. You are free to not use the forum. But I do ask that when you are using this forum, you do so with respect for me and all the other members who work very hard to keep this a positive, helpful place.

We are off-topic and I will not turn this into a "why was Amp banned" thread. I ask that you respect that.

Mike

Well sorry guys, I got to looking at rafiqtrader after his last message.

He works for AMP. That explains why over half his posts have been promoting AMP, and why he wrote this last post above.

I have definitive proof.

He is now banned, and this is further evidence of why AMP was banned. He simply cannot follow forum rules, one of which is no duplicate accounts/no multi-user accounts, and if you are banned, it is a violation of our terms and conditions for you to return. AMP has registered multiple accounts after being banned. I thought I had caught them all, but this one slipped through.

As I mentioned earlier - while Amp may of delayed the wire, international wires are always difficult. People across the internet complain about wiring money out of US banks and brokers all the time. The OP first said it was a domestic wire, then said it was an international wire... the fedwire is always very up tight about international wires, no matter how small. Sorry for the pain... good luck with your tour (to OP)

That's too bad... I was thinking you might warm up to AMP (I noticed in your past comments in 2009, you didn't like their commissions and margins - their margins are now in line with the rest of the industry; e.g. CL at $1k, ES at $400, 6E @ $1k). I noticed they display the futures.io (formerly BMT) award on their home page (ampclearing.com).

Sorry, but I am not going to warm up to Amp after the way they conduct themselves.

Let's return back to topic. I will not comment further on this.

What a joke.

Take your money out of AMP as soon as possible! Why?

Because of unprofessional behavior. How on Earth you can trust this broker?

Mike asked to stay on topic... instead of slandering companies, open up a brokerage in your country where you are a citizen to avoid problems. There are plenty of brokers all over, especially in London. Or open a brokerage in a country that is more lax about wire transfers. It is no secret international wires are hard in the US. Sorry about that. You can't blame the US Govt too much. Good luck.

Oh really? I am so sorry if you did not like my post.
Well, freedom of speech and expression are not always welcome.

I open a brokerage account where I want and where I feel comfortable with, it is my money.
Actually, for your information I do have a UK brokerage account, if it makes you feel happy.

And I did not blame the US Gov for that.

You are very kind, but I do not need any luck.

Recently, I have wired in and out of AMP without issue. Sometimes I see opportunities with options on certain ETF's and need to get cash back to my bank account for option settlement (1 day) fast...
