I am located in Alberta, Canada and am interested if anyone here is aware of US brokers that will open accts for Canadians in CDN $ that can also provide TT's X Trader. It seems that any IB that clears through RCG will open Canadian accts as RCG will take CDN $. The only one I have currently found that also offers TT is GlobalFutures but I do not know anything about them outside of their website. Any input would be appreciated.
thank you for the info. i did not think of crossland as i did not think that they would accept accept cdn $. ddt's name and website have always put me off from even contacting them... i had no idea that they were a ib for crossland. i will contact both for more info.
Crossland and DDT will open accounts for Canadians but only in US funds. Looks like I may need to go RCGdirect. I prefer to hold CDN funds in the account as currently with RCG the fx conversion cost (US to CDN) is very inexpensive. I tend to take out profits on a weekly basis and the fx conversion cost through cdn banks is brutal.
I have continued with a Zenfire RCG combo through Mirus as my circumstances have changed. I may actually have to go back to using Interactive Brokers (Canadian office). The last few months I have started taking 50% of my weekly profits out of my account and having it wired back to my Canadian bank. ***It does not matter how much money is sitting in your brokerage account, you have not made a penny until it is back in the bank!*** As you may or may not be aware, wire transfer in or out of Canada exceeding $10,000 on a regular basis tends to raise some red flags. I may go back to Interactive Brokers as in Canada they have the ability to do electronic bank transfers in and out. I could withdraw money from the brokerage account daily without issue. I do have a bank account in the US and have thought about simply transferring out of my RCG account to that one... but in the end it raises the same issue as at some point I would want the money in Canada...
So my time has been spent researching appropriate data/platform combo's that will work with Interactive Brokers. But, to answer your question.... after doing the research I would have gone with CQG Integrated Client instead of TT's X Trader and gone with RCG Direct. For CL, GC (my two main contracts) RCG Direct would have been cheaper than Crossland's DDT as I do have a fairly high volume and RCG can handle CDN$.
