which datafeed is better Zen or TT?

If you're using Ninja, it's better to choose a broker that offers Zen; TT FIX is 'coalesced' (i.e. compressed) for running with NT; it's not the same feed offered by TT tru its X_Trader/Guardian.

We are venturing here and it is probably better to discuss in a TT FIX thread or a data feed thread, but...

Interesting, that is the first time I've heard that. Are you saying that all of TT FIX is this way (any platform) or only via NinjaTrader? Any links to details on such a thing?

Mike

Just looking at the bid ask data thru TT FIX u will see that data is incomplete and weird, while X-Trader certifies its bid ask data and the cumulative delta study. I think TT FIX is almost an order routing..

Take your Pips, go out and Live.
Luke.

TT Fix and the TT feed connected to Xtrader 7 are two different animals! I myself am not a fan of TT Fix feed for order routing versus Zenfire/Rithmic (I have my reasons).

Care to elaborate?

TT Fix Adapter - Trading Technologies International, Inc.

Leverages TT's high-speed gateways for market data and order routing to global derivatives and cash markets

*** The key word they use is leverages as you can see in the bullet statement above from their site....so the TT Fix is not the exact same as regular TT feed in full operation. I have asked a lot of questions to those at IB's and FCM's in regard to this matter (due to at times unreliable TT Fix feed problems) and they will give you more details.

Regular TT Feed info - Trading Technologies International, Inc.

I am not sure exactly why there are reliability/performance issues between the two feeds (one better than the other) and I have had some info provided by FCM's that has me wondering.

The problem is velocity is such a nice broker, but if you go on ninjatrader you must use their FIX adapter, thanks.

Chris... Doesn't tradevec use TT fix for their execution side as well, I know they don't use zenfire. You were talking about how you are moving everything eventually to that platform because they have bid ask delta built in.... so are you saying that you're no longer supporting tradevec anymore ?

Mike, at Ninja Forum there is a thread about that: essentially at least 100 ms (or worse) coalescing rate is well known for NT TT Fix setups at FCM/Broker because NT would crash otherwise (clearly NT tech support denies it); cannot comment about other TT Fix implementations.

Yes they use TT Fix for order execution (and they will add additional order routing feeds in the future). I have suggested to them to take a look at Rithmic which I know they plan to do at some point going forward. TradeVec has worked very well so far and their Cumulative Delta tools with DTN feed connected are pretty good for their initial version.

So far for charting I am sticking with Inv RT Pro since I have so much already set up in that charting app......into 2011 I will see how development goes for various products and then reevaluate the situation.
