Hi.

I was searching for a while on the day when 30yr US Treasury bond contract started trading... I have historical data in my ninjatrader on ZB from 29 September 1998. I thought that ZB started trading electronically from that date. But after searching in google, I found that it had a very long history of existence.!!

I see on investing.com's 30 Yr bond page US 30 Year T-Bond Futures Chart - Investing.com that shows daily data from 1-1-2004.

Wikipedia says that the US Govt stopped issuing 30yr T bonds from February 18, 2002 to February 9, 2006. You can see that here. United States Treasury security - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So, my doubt is... where did this so called historical data come from ??? when the instrument was non existent during 2002 to 2006!?!! Let's say the guy I bought the data from is crap... what about Investing.com?!?! Is it also crap ?!? Something's wrong here... Please clarify.

I believe US (the 30Y bond pit ticker symbol before the internet and electronic trading...) began trading in 1977...

Back in the old days during my grad school years, US was now mature animal at 10 years old and I'll never forget how "fast" (in those days) USZ7 (December 1987 bond future) was moving right before, during, and after the 1987 stock market crash/correction...yes -- way back then, we had this hand-held thing called a QuoTrek from Signal that broadcast the prices over the FM radio airwaves. I can't even remember if US/TY/FV had an 8% or 10% coupon rate back then.
