I was running through some examples on the Futures Financials ( ZB, ZN, ZT, ZF )
using an online Futures calculator.....
Here is where the confusion comes in, and the calculations I got from plugging in these numbers....
ZB calculations:
1. entry at 148.21 and exit at 156.21 = a profit of 8 points ( $8,000 )
2. entry at 148.21 and exit at 156.22 = a profit of 8.03 points ( 48,031.25 )
These two examples I understand.
Here is the one that is throwing me off....
Entry at 148.21 and exit at 156.20 = a profit off 10.09 points ( $10,093.75 )
So all we did was take the 1 off of the 21 from 156.21 , and made it a 0 , and we ended up with a near $2,000 extra profit, from changing just that one number ?
I appreciate any and all help with the math behind the question at hand
Thanks so much - Michael

When you see a quote for ZB as "148.21" that means 148 21/32 or converted to 148.656 -- if you sell ZB at "148.21" and exit at "148.01" which means 148 01/32 and converts to 148.031-- then you've earned/profited by $625 or 20 ticks...each tick is 1/32nd
Hi there, sorry to hijack the thread a bit (a lot).
I use market profile and am not 100% sure what the times are that constitute the initial balance for market profile calculations. Anyone got any ideas/know for sure? I would guess it's 9.30-10.30am ET but then it could also be 8.30-10.30am on days when news comes out at 8.30??
Any help is appreciated. ZN works great with 5 day/10 day composite profiles and would like to drill it down to the dailies and that initial balance...
