Hi Guys,

I am an orderflow trader. I don't trade the charts, but purely the DOM (Jigsaw). However, I still use historical chart data to get some context information via volume profile and TPO in preparation for the trading day (homework).

I was wondering if you guys have found that IB has a decent real-time EUREX data feed to just get started, before I shell out the full $100 per month for IQFeed. This would be mainly for the first 3-6 months as I study the market (NO TRADING), and just watch the action to get use to how this market trades...

Can you guys tell me what issues you have found with IB's data that would cause serious harm to my learning? My understanding was that they aggregate the trades at each price and send them in blocks...but as long as it doesn't skew the cumulative trades at each price during a period of say 500ms, I don't see it having a really harmful effect on me...

Thanks

@tradingftw

What is IB ? Initial Balance or a Broker's name ?

I do not understand what you are looking for.

Have a nice week-end.

Sorry, thought I mentioned the full name, but must have just thought to type it and not actually typed it.

IB = InteractiveBrokers, in the case of my post.

Hi there, I use Jigsaw with CQG from AMP and it seems to work very well. Also AMP allows you to SIM trade pretty much as long as you like, free of charge - you just have to extend it every two weeks.

Apparently, the very best data feed is DTN which you might want to consider when you start live trading.

I dont know if CQG supports Sierra but easy to check if it does! If not you could always revert to Ninjatrader which is free to use, if you're not trading live. Not spending money appeals to my Scottish nature!

From what I've read, IB isnt really suitable for depth of market info but Peter Davies of Jigsaw might be better able to advise you on that.

Good luck!

CQG is great, and it works with Sierra. I think I will probably just bite the bullet and do this right... DTN IQ + Jigsaw + Sierracharts.
