Glad to join. Have traded for 4 years. Two years part time and last two full time. Started out demo trading Forex and then opened a small micro account live, then a larger one with FXCM. When they exited the US market I decided to switch to futures - BIG change from MT4 to NinjaTrader and Futures.

I haven't blown up any accounts - not even close - but I am not consistently profitable - spent a lot of time "system jumping" searching for that right one, and am just now realizing the "system" that needs the most work is the mental / emotional one. I still consider myself a new trader for that reason, and I am not profitable in futures since switching. I was profitable in Forex.

I used to watch the top 10 markets by volume, but starting the new year I have cut that down to just ES,ZN, GE, GC, and CL. I have been learning for the past two years Elliot Wave and then discovered Harmonic Patterns and Fibonacci last year about this time. Then back in the fall began learning about market profile, but abandoned it as NinjaTrader didn't have a true market profile indicator and I have sworn off buying anymore software until I can be consistent with what I have ( not the arrow , it's the archer ) Now, with Ninja Trader's new order flow suite ( I have the lifetime must-broker license so I get it) I see some possibilities to better filter my EW and pattern entries and exits. I think order flow / tape reading might increase the odds of knowing which patterns aren't as likely to fail or which EW count is the best.

For software I use a harmonic pattern recognition fib tool from XABCD Trading and for Elliot Wave and trade sizing I use MTPredictor, as I said on the NinjaTrader platform.

Big Mike says new folks here should ask questions, so if someone could give me the order flow and market profile run down or point to the best resources/links within the site that would be helpful. Of course I will browse the educational stuff here too. Thanks in advance to all - looks like a real nice site to learn and find support and encouragement - good vibe reading the posts. Has the same feel as Baby Pips except on steroids!

I don't have an answer to your request, but I did want to say welcome, from a neighbor close by in Bay Village!

Hi AT, I realized I didn't say 'welcome', so, welcome!

As far as Order Flow recommendations, I have always found Jigsaw Trading to be an excellent resource, there's lots of free stuff on their website. The owner of Jigsaw posts here as DionysusToast so if you have specific questions feel free to look him up.
