There's stop market orders and stop limit orders.

Chris, I really appreciate this. Yes a Stop Limit order will be deterministic and end up in the queue ahead of a limit order requested by a user.

If you went direct market, you would not be dealing with Rithmic, TT or CQG. Direct market means you write the code yourself for the CME MDP 3.0 Market Data Feed Handler or more likely you would buy/lease the software from a third party. From places like onixs.biz, b2bits.com, or algo-logic.com (if you want a FPGA solution with under 1 microsecond latency, which by the way costs more than 100k).

yes im talking to onixs about their MDP handler. i just need to convince a DMA broker to give me an account.

You'll probably need around 500k even at non-bank FCMs to order your own iLinks and a demo of your risk layer, even though CME exposes a lot more control to their clearing firms. There's not much convincing to do.

Also, OnixS's feed handler is significantly slower than advertised when you're consuming multiple channels, I think it wasn't designed with that in mind. It's OK for example if you're just trading CL against CL.

Hi,

Sorry I dont see a Hosting section, I am new to futures, but experienced in low latency trading in other sectors. I am interested in trading CME Currencies. These are located in Aurora, Illinois.

Can anyone please suggest a good low latency server provider, preferably in the data centre or very close?

Also how do i get a low latency broker to the exchange? I am Australian. Is futures regulated or can I sign up to an American broker?

Thanks
Luke

Hi There, we have many clients from Australia and I can assist you with determining if you need co location and how to go about it.

This is not my area of expertise but I did run algo using rithmic and am a little familiar with their set up. If you want low latency without getting a risk check from your broker, look for true DMA. No risk check or risk check done by the execution platform. Advantage futures will probably fit the bill. Rithmic can do what you want and the standard API is 250 us latency. If you pay up, Rithmic will work with you to get sub 50 us, risk check included. Reach out to Advantage and reach out to Rithmic. Rithmic offers hosting at $300 a mo, direct connect into their servers. The biggest sources of latency IMHO are going generally going to be 1) your algo 2) broker risk check.

Also consider TT as an option. They're already at 50 us for their standard API and sub 20 us for their TT prime offering. Risk check included I believe but double check...which I'm sure you will do. Good luck brah!
