Hi.

That's it, just "Hi"?

I think you might need to invest in the process a little bit more than that my dear friend.

What are your goals? Account size? Time frame? Current responsibilities? How much time and energy can you devote to this endeavor? Can you start to pin point your emotional baggage? Risk tolerance? etc

Ron

It is an axiomatic fact that while you meditate you are speaking with your own spirit. In that state of mind you put certain questions to your spirit and the spirit answers: the light breaks forth and the reality is revealed.

I'm sorry. It was an error send. I wanted to delete it from posting but did not know how. My bad on both parts.

I've invested close to a year trading the /ES under ToS and NT and quite a bit of $$ Have charts candles somewhat down, use a few good indicators and the Levels for guidance, reading "In The Zone". Seek a solid person to be able to talk to for questions. Sorry about the just "Hi".

I don't think you can find just one mentor. I have, and I use the term freely, a bunch. Mark Douglas (books, meet and him heard him speak, large influence), John Richardson (emails, large influence), Justin Mamis (book, Internet, large influence), John Carter (book, meet him heard him speak, in his trade room for a few months, small influence), here at FIO (@Big Mike, many others here as well, FIO in general as a community, large influence) , Morad Askar FT71 (ideas and concepts, medium influence), Tom Sosnoff and Tastytrade (small to medium influence) and probably the most important part, my higher self, spiritual in nature, connecting with true religion something the world in the generality of mankind, IMHO, can not recognize or comprehend yet. Alex Wasilewski, Tom Busby (anti-mentors, learned what not to do, how not to behave or trade or be (these two were some years ago perhaps they are different now?)).

Thanks. You sound extremely connected. I am not. I am reading "In The Zone" (Mark Douglas) I'd love to have multiple mentors... John Richardson looks like Options. Have heard FT71 is very good. I understand anti-mentor.

I am nothing....

I found a source, Troy Schauls, that I trusted from working with his Rancho Dinero volume profile tools and emailing him who vouched for John Richardson's as a good guy. He is IMO. He has two courses, I do have both, but his levels course is the heart of both his futures trading and his options trading. I have made it my own, as one does basically adding to it a bit but it works that much I know. But it took me over a year to be able to take the trade using it. Was to scared.

Troy Schauls

Mahalo. I googled and found Troy Schauls of Rancho Dinero. Is that who you mean? He's TPO it looks like, I'm just a simple /ES trader. Could he be a help for me? I didn't see about futures trading or courses when I googled.

By the way, I use SMA, MACD, RSI and L2, and Support / Resistance to guide me. My entry points
are always too late and exits usually too early. Added on Supply-Demand but don't know the entries yet. ToS and NT 1-min charts.

Yeah that's Troy. He is an ex Microsoft guy high level computer science engineer turned trader so he made his own tools because he could. Basically a volume profile guy but also has Time Price Opportunity market profile tools too and tools for enhancing market internals as well as order flow. His tools would help IMHO. But you could obtain similar tools with FIO Elite membership here for a lot less money but maybe not as complete tech support should you need it as Troy would offer as well as updates in line with software updates say from NinjaTrader.

The issues I would say in using derivative of OHLC indicators like you mentioned as I found is they were all created back in the day over 30 years ago for large time frames for example daily. We have come a long way with both tech and trading info and knowledge. I think you could replace those with market internals and after you climb the learning curve be better off. Like NY TICK, ADD advance declines and ADDSP, VIX maybe the TRIN on just equities not made from ETF's too. I totally love the 52 week Total Stock market New Highs New Lows which I get from IQFeed, add all together from each different stock market part like NYSE NASDAQ etc etc and plot it.

IMHO increase your time frame. 1 min is good for the TICK. Not sure if for ES. Are you familiar with volume bars? On ES maybe try 15,000-20,000 volume bars help you see the overnight compressed too for the over night high and low (ONH ONL) fade trade.

Ron

Edit: oops forgot a zero at end of 15,000...

Troy Schauls

Thanks. Not sure if all of that applies to trading the S&P 500 e-minis... I do nothing with volume but know higher is better. Perhaps a reliable volume indicator? I watch what happens on the e-mines at night and like to trade nighttime too (like London) I know if I raise my chart from 1 min to 5 min I'll get rid of noise. Perhaps I'd be less reactive if everything was 5 min. But then I can miss a turn for say 4 minutes which could be very bad. Can I use 5 min for Supply and Demand bars?
