At futures io, our focus is on quality education. No hype, gimmicks, or secret sauce. The truth is: trading is hard. To succeed, you need to surround yourself with the right support system, educational content, and trading mentors Ė all of which you can find on futures io, utilizing our social trading environment.

With futures io, you can find honest trading reviews on brokers, trading rooms, indicator packages, trading strategies, and much more. Our trading review process is highly moderated to ensure that only genuine users are allowed, so you donít need to worry about fake reviews.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading sites:
  • We are here to help. Just let us know what you need.
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive in our community.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendors advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, we can help you find it.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community.  It's free and simple.

second time around

I tried trading a few years ago and was close to getting (or so I thought) and dropped out for a few years. I have learned alot but I am finding out not as much as I should have. I want to learn to trade better so I might forfil my goal.
My goal is to make some money for myself and donate 1/3 to 1/2 to a worthey charity. I am a 100% disabled vet from Vietnam. I am comfortable with what I make but have succeded with everthing I have tried BUT TRADING.
I think I try to think too much about it. I am doing alot better than the first time. I have tried different methods like bollinger bands and am having some success. I am an open minded person and if someone cold help me, I promise that I will not complain.
thanks for reading this.

This statement that you made caught my attention. In ways reminds me of my own personal character. That failure is not an option. On that note, I have an question for you and others; do you think that this mindset is helping your trading or not? For example, does this mindset allow an individual to lose some (battles) trades but in the end win the "war"?

Its good that you are having another go at trading. Its not easy, you have to find a trading style that suits your character. Sometimes people over think things because they are not trading in a way that suits their character. They might be a longer time frame trader but are watching the market on a 1 minute chart or 8 range bars and living and dying by the next print.

Why were you not successful at trading?

It is hard to find the Truth when you start your search with a preconceived notion of what the Truth will be.

you really haven't told us much about how you want to trade...

from the looks of it you want to do stocks... but do you have a plan? Are you a swing trader, long term or daytrader.

How do you find opportunity? Where do you look for stocks to trade.

It looks like you want to read stock charts. I really like Bollinger bands and have basically built my trading method around them.

I have 2 journals where I discuss long term and swing trading that may be of interest to you

Underexposed - American Stock Journal
Underexposed - Canadian Stock Journal

the journals are very similar in approach just different exchanges and I found out that American exchanges are a lot different than American exchanges... something that surprised me.

You might not like my style and I encourage you to check out other journals which may suit your style better. This is a good website and lots of interesting threads to follow.... Good luck.
