Firstly, I have been searching for a forum where I can obtain information from real traders without the hype & bs of other so called forums.

I have blown several accounts, while frustrating it has been a valuable lesson, more so a lesson of self growth.

I grew up in a negative environment where anyone whom was successful with obtaining money was frowned upon. A BMW or Merc would drive past & as kid I would wonder what they did to get that where as my parents would snigger at them or the tut tut response, sure some of you would be familiar. I was discouraged from doing anything successful in my life - so I left home & became a homeless teenager for a period of time. In order to survive I left the state to begin my own life. While I haven't made the cash I wanted (I'm an employee) I have stable employment & a lasting marriage of 18yrs & 2 wonderful children & we own our own home, I drive a new model B7 VW Passat which is quite an accomplishment & holiday regularly.

On the path of learning how to trade I went on a path which made me a much more patient person in general much nicer to be around. I read many self help books & that of trading as well. Perhaps the best lesson I had was seeing a psychologist & at around the same I picked up Van Tharp's Peak Performance course which was life changing.

I learnt more about myself than any other experience I had up to that point. I am very thankful for having discovered Van Tharp's work & of course to the man himself.

While am still learning how to trade with micro accounts I am positive longer I will prosper.

I am quiet busy but will endeavor to contribute to BigMike's.

I love the B7s by the way. Great choice!

I do not pay any attention to either. I have seen moves with low volume but then some trade by volume alone. As for slippage I see it as perhaps more of concern for intraday traders, I trade on daily bars with my goal to move to monthly. Any occurrence is part of the business apart from being queued someone else needs to take your opposite position. I participate to take a small piece of the market but not the market take a big piece of me.

What are your thoughts?

Trading the e-micros over several days or more is interesting. Never looked at from that perspective.
