First time post: been trading couple years. Just getting to point of confidence and profitability. Using Trade Station and Infinity DOM. Have been working on decision making and found that the third time I read Douglas' Trading in the Zone, it is starting to sink in. The message is profound: go from the standpoint you do not know where the marker is going, and then aren't surprised at what it does. Know how good your set ups are, and trade those set ups, period. Must be off a trading Plan, and Trading Strategy (ies), but must have a Plan for set ups entries, exits, etc.

Trading off of Support & Resistance and am finding that is working very well. Not using indicators, per se, but look at a lot of the indicators: Bollinger Bands, trends and trend lines, and some other things when I have time to analyze and back test.

Havve participated in several Trading Rooms and am back to "doing it myself". That is working better: it is a question of taking responsibilty for my trades and results.

Interested in whether the Colorado folks are in the Denver Trading Group. A great set of folks and speakers every month!

Warm Regards,
Sprskate

Hi All;

I was a former floor trader and I have been attempting to make the transition from the floor to a desk. IT AINT EASY!!

I trade crude ( for no other reason than I can't seem to buy a winning trade on the ES).

I have been using Tradestation for a couple of years and I have been satisfied ( overall). I noticed though in the past year or two that more and more people are switching over to Ninja and other platforms -- so I am giving it a try.

My problem is that I have a bunch of indicators that I bought from various programmers ( which are locked) and I like them and they work pretty well for me.

On the other hand there seem to be a ton of interesting indicators and strategies on Ninja - But, I want to have my cake and eat it too - but .....

In any event, my trading philosophy is really simple - Keep the discipline and dont panic and dont DO STUPID THINGS. If I follow these simple rules, I find almost any legitimate "system" will work

I really enjoy perusing the site and it gives me something to do when the markets are slow ( rather than lose money).. Anyway - To Mike -- Thanks -- I am enjoying myself. To everyone else -- HI!!

Seems to me that you have a giant step in your favor of knowing the markets and the pivot points etc... anyway, shout at me if you like, I've been trading futures for 18 months very cautiuosly and full time since June'10.

Learned some good entries that are re-peatable. Trading the 6E from 6am-830 cst, ES from 9cst. lately been going to CL since the ES is crawling after 10:30 cst...

Good luck!

Maybe your setups would be good candidates to plug into my Generic Strategy to see how they do. Take a look at if you're interested and let me know what you think. Probably should post in that thread if you have any comments so we don't gum up this Introduction thread.

Hi Mike,

I came across your site whilst searching for NinjaTrader indicators. I have been trading for a few years and have had more success with larger timeframes (i.e. daily) but therefore I take fewer trades. I have dabbled with daytrading other markets, primarily the YM. I tend to tighten my stop quite aggressively as, like you, I don't like a winning trade to turn into a loser.

Regards,
Tartimo.

I've been trading futures exclusively for five years. The last two have been particulary challenging since I decided to automate my discretionary methods. I'm starting to reap the rewards of that effort. It's a shame the tools available to small players are so inferior to the whales.

I wish you all great success.

Hi Guys,

Just joined the boards and hope to contribute where I can. I have been trading 10 years using both TS and NT. But finally moving more to NT as I am discovering the limitations of TS.

Happy Trading one and all !!

I'm trying to get more info on NT.
I currently use a combo of charting with Amibroker and TWS from IB for physically trading.
I want to combine the two.

Neil.
