Hello!!

I am a very beginner trader willing to learn from everybody here.
I started to work as a trader's assistant in the brokerage firm located at 2 World Trade Center, New York City in 1988. I started to trade online in 1997 and watched all my money evaporate after 2001...
I am still struggling. Trading is very hard. I consider myself an infant trader who just born.
Feels great to be here. Thank you for creating this site, Big Mike!!

Welcome!!!! showing some love from Caracas Venezuela

Hi There,

Been around the markets for a couple years, do a lot of social media and promotions for the mining markets in particular.

The highs and lows of trading keep me very interested. I mainly stick to the Canadian markets(being based out of Vancouver) looking for new strategies and ways to make money in the markets. Appreciate this site and anyone who helps me out!

Welcome! Interesting job you have. Canadian miner stocks have given me some bucks lately. But difficult to trade because rarely valid technical chart information. I had to rely on my guts and some hints from an investor.

I don't explain my charts. If you like to follow my trades, look for these lines.

I think mining stocks and periphery are the assets to have the next decade. Especially GC/SI exploration. As an investment, not as short term trading vehicles. Now is the time to pick an to be patient.

I am thankful to finding this site and be able to communicate with other traders that want the best for each other to succeed and grow their accounts to have a better life for their family and themselves. Greed is a bad word but profits is not.
In the past I traded Forex for several years but my mentor switched to Futures as it offers opportunities Forex does not. so I followed his lead.
I find it interesting and look forward to the next step in my venture.
I am also interested in Options but have no idea where to start but hope to learn more in the new year.

Hi Monica,

I think we share almost similar trading trajectory and success or failure in trading. What are you trading now and what is your style?

I am just starting in quantitative trading and absorbing as much information as I can.
A the rules of the forum encourage posting here is my introductions: I have a programming background and operate with tradestation. I am interested in trading options and futures and I hope to get some interesting ideas in the forum.

Have you found success in your quant methods? Though not a pure quant but I tried to build some statistical models in MT4 and MT5 but nothing consistent.

Hi,

I have been involved in with the markets and trading for about four years. I have read several books about trading, and I am most interested in futures and options. During this time I have mostly done paper trading of futures. I actively trade options live in some relatively small accounts (I am a fan of TastyTrade and their methods). I have enjoyed seeing success with these accounts.

I have done three combines with TopStepTrader (did not pass, but did improve) and I have come to realize I need a better plan and/or more practice. I like the pressure a combine puts on you, it's not quite paper trading (because what you paid for it is at risk), but not quite your own account capital at risk.

What has really got me fascinated with futures for the past year or so is using order flow methods to trade in and out of the market. I have learned a few methods on understanding the DOM and market/volume profile. I really want to know how successful proprietary traders do it.

I'm currently working on getting the Jigsaw daytradr platform & setting it up to use.

I am currently still in college, studying computer networking & security (....could end up being a network admin, but I would prefer full-time trading ).

Some of my top favorite books I have read, still reading or re-reading about trading:

Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas
Mind Over Markets by James Dalton, Eric Jones, Robert, Dalton
An End to the Bull by Gary Norden
Trend Following by Michael Covel
Option Volatility & Pricing by Sheldon Natenberg
The Option Trader's Hedge Fund by Dennis Chen, Mark Sebastian

I just joined elite membership, I really think this site has incredible, useful content. I want to help support it and use some of the included benefits.

Nice! I have used Jigsaw in the past, but ow I feel maybe I did ot have all the other things needed for successful trading, so ultimately loss even with Jigsaw and other OrderFlow products I purchased.

Hello All,

I started trading the high flying stocks of 1999, only to blow up my first account at the age of 17. This experience kept me away from stocks for a period of time and started to look into other ventures.

I started to get interested again, when 2007 showed up and I started to see certain actions that hit me straight in the gut and I moved everything to bonds, after seeing the a 13 % decline from the Peak. I got very lucky and I know it, but I was able to save my 401k.

You think I would be smart and buy toward the bottom, but I stayed in bonds pretty much until 2012. I knew I wasn't ready to trade, but I did read several books on portfolio management and have consistently performed well within market conditions, outperforming the SP500 most years. I always feel my luck will run out one day, but managing my accounts this way has worked well for me. I will continue to manage the majority of my money using these methods.

I'm actually in I.T. and specialize in Infrastructure, but I do have a Programming/Scripting Background. I now want open up a futures account and start trading Crude Oil and Gold. I have read "The Logical Trader" and this book resonates with me as Mark Fisher's methods make sense to me. I have tweaked them in a way, using some additional indicators that I have programmed in Trading view.

Feel free to message me about anything Markets or I.T in particular. All Feedback, comments and helpful advice are welcome.

Unfortunately I also used to have similar kind of luck that once I enter the trading with some funds and right then within a week or two I will encounter with the biggest drop or pop of that last 6months or even history. I would accumulate the funds and just when I think I know the trading range and how high or low it can go and extend my position loss and this market would go to the last tick until my positions are stopped out.
