Well introduced. Get the feeling you'll fit right in with that attitude of being here for the long term. There are a lot of members here who are willing and able to help aspiring traders.

Good that you found your way through actual trading. I come from somewhat similar experience although stocks was the vehicle that brought me here and stayed for the futures.

Enjoy the process, and if you're serious about trading for the forseeable future I'd suggest watching/attending webinars and keeping a journal here on FIO or find an accountability partner that you'll share your process with. Just my 2cents.

Welcome

Thanks for the warm welcome and my apologies for the delay.

It's awesome to connect with a community with trading. Appreciate the advice. I've been posting my morning outlook on twitter. It's a cool way to be somewhat accountable since it's public, and I enjoy the extra push for diligence as a result of it. I'm totally open to having an accountability partner. As long as it's constructive. In the past most traders I've talked to 1 on 1 prefer to complain and vent their emotions. Something I don't care for when it comes to this business. We all have bad days but everytime the market swings? Come on. I'd imagine that's due to being a beginner myself so mostly having connections to other beginners. Looking forward to talking with more serious and experienced people on here as we all grow

Currently I'm at a stage where my technicals are sound and the last two months I've been improving my execution. I recently released whenever I feel the emotions of "fear / doubt" that means pull the trigger. More often than not those trades are sound. When I'm overly confident "oh for sure - easy" those often fail. Lol. Definitely enjoying the process. Trading growth extends outside of just the markets. One of the reasons I love it

I am just starting in quantitative trading and absorbing as much information as I can.
A the rules of the forum encourage posting here is my introductions: I have a programming background and operate with tradestation. I am interested in trading options and futures and I hope to get some interesting ideas in the forum.

Realized/realised*

Took me way too long to realise what you meant by that one sentence haha.

I upload to YouTube myself as my accountability process and also share some of those videos with a way more experienced trader here on FIO

Glad you found a way to keep track/share your journey that suits you. Feel free to pm me your handle any time I'd happily take a look when I can.

Hello Friends,

Two year veteran trading from the US, mostly stocks, recently futures and options. Day trader and some swing. I am interested in programming MultiCharts dot net. I have not written anything for MC but modified basic stuff so far. My review and blog is located at pro elite traders com.

I reached a point where money is not my primary goal. Mastering the trade is my primary pursuit. The money naturally follows.

I am interested in connecting with other C# developers for the MultiCharts dot net platform.

Stay focused on perfecting your craft.
Best

Hello!!

I am a very beginner trader willing to learn from everybody here.
I started to work as a trader's assistant in the brokerage firm located at 2 World Trade Center, New York City in 1988. I started to trade online in 1997 and watched all my money evaporate after 2001...
I am still struggling. Trading is very hard. I consider myself an infant trader who just born.
Feels great to be here. Thank you for creating this site, Big Mike!!

You might find it useful to start a trade journal on the forum. Look into "Trading Journals" on the main page if you're interested or curious.

People put anything and everything in their journals, in any level of detail. Some are trade-by-trade post mortems, some are, as you mentioned, simply a morning outlook, or a final summary, or whatever proves useful to them.

Almost everyone with a journal gets feedback that is helpful and constructive. The tone is contributory.

(Negative and rude posts are against the rules and the moderators -- ahem -- delete them. We are very intolerant of rudeness and want to foster an environment where traders assist each other.)

Good to see you here. Have fun with it.

Bob.
