Hello everyone, first of all, I apologize for my English, it is not my native language. I have no experience in futures, so far I've only traded forex, but I'm very interested in starting to learn how to operate these assets. I hope to learn a lot from all of you. Thank you.

Hello Benxa! Welcome aboard!

Hey everyone!

I've been trading for a year now, focusing for the last three months on pure orderflow trading in the treasure markets. Looking forward to learn from you and share my struggles!

Hi guys and Thank you Big Mike for accepting my request to become a member of this forum
My Journey as a Trader begun in Jan 2016 and for two years I grinded it out without a mentor and spent over 90% of my time in front of my computer screen...I still do.
I Loved chart patterns and read Edwards and Magee after listening to a podcast featuring Peter Brandt from cover to cover and I loved the way they discussed patterns and they are appealing to me coz anyway, I love Art. . After trading intraday patterns for 6 months and seeing multiple failures, I foolishly abandoned the technique & begun the Holy-Grail hunt. I almost gave up coz didn't understand random outcomes, risk management, psychology and having an Edge, as key pillars in trading, But thanks to Mark Douglas's Trading in the Zone, I had an 'Aha' moment.

1.5 yrs later after losing $, I found myself circling back to where I begun! Classical chart patterns. For a very long time I had a very biased Mindset that I couldn't day trade. Besides, patterns don't work out when it comes to day trading so i told myself. This was despite the fact that my personality couldn't allow me to become a long-term player!
I begun reading the Market Wizards books and then had many light Bulb moments and the most important of them being the fact that I did not allow myself to study the market and price behavior which is Fractal in nature AND also, I didn't have an EDGE, lacked a PROCESS and wanted to interpret price data without CONTEXT consequently imposing my views on the Market.
After fixing all this and dedicating my time to study price behaviour I realized that I first have to accept who I am as an individual and harness my personality in order to first of all study the Market in line with my personality and consequently trade too(I believe that one's trading approach/process should also be in line with one's personality). This is very hard to explain to any new trader and honestly two years ago I wouldn't get this in my head.
Now, I am in the early stages of conscious competence and refining my Edge using Market Auction theory a principle I read about during my Holy grail Hunting stage but I couldn't get my head around it because I didn't have the patience to understand it! It's amazing how I find myself circling back to some really basic stuff...
Idecided to join this forum since I want to learn from those who have made it and read the threads on Psychology and Money management.
I have a strong feeling that I am on the right path and this forum will help me to stick to it.
Currently reading Brett Steenbarger and Mike Bellafiore's books and coincidentally, this year I found myself doing some of the things that they recommend even before I begun reading their books.
I want to thank Big Mike for his efforts in starting and managing this forum plus there is no price tag on the Knowledge shared through futures.io webinars. Mr. Big Mike I don't think you have any idea of the difference you have made in the lives of people like me who live in my part of the World and are interested inFIn Markets but have no access to mentors or successful traders. THANK YOU.

Hi guys & gals

I am Gareth from Hertford, U.K. Slowly easing myself back into trading after couple years absence. Upto recently have just used my spread betting accounts platform, CMC, but have just installed trading view and will start using that as a charting package, before opening a trading account through it. I trade stocks, and indices, and a little FX, still trying different styles to see which suites my lifestyle and personality best, I suspect it will be short term swing trades, mean reversion etc, maybe couple days, weeks at most.
I have previously made a stack of cash spreadbetting, and lost a fair chunk as well. This time i am approaching from a very different perspective, with a more disciplined, organised approach and strict trading plan.
I have been watching lots of youtube videos, mainly Rayner Teo and Barry Burns, have learnt a lot from them, and it hasnt cost anymore than my time.
Anyone else with similar approach, or any other U.K traders feel free to get in touch. I know i differ from a lot of guys on here who are just into CFD Fx on MT4. Luckily in U.K we have spreadbetting, which is really easy to use and flexible.

Cheers

Rgds

Gareth

Welcome!

I talk to a few over there with SB accounts. With ESMA rolling out, they are switching to futures. I guess the margin rates will be more favorable. You any thoughts on this?

I'm new to the site and am already impressed by the wealth of information here.

I have traded the emini for 2+ years but am still working on becoming consistently profitable.

I'm a retired school teacher who hopes to supplement my income with daytrading profits in the not-too-distant future.

My methodology is mostly fading S/R. I have studied with several online teachers--some good, some not-so good. Presently use guidance from Open Trader and find it helpful and the trainers exceptional.

I like the idea of being part of a community of traders. (Staring at the screen for hours can get pretty numbing.) Thanks to Big Mike and all the contributors who have made this site what it is. I look forward to the day when I can help other traders the way you more experienced traders are willing to help me.

In reply to ESMA question. Sorry I’m not allowed to quote question as newbie.

Had my first contact from broker yesterday regarding proposed changes. On surface just seems to be reduction in available leverage. I don’t consider this a bad thing, if I need to inject more cash into my spreadbetting account to maintain my current position size then so be it. Not sure if there will be any more ramifications. I’ll figure a way whatever comes my way.

Hi everyone,

I'm Bruno Calhiari from Araçatuba region, São Paulo state, Brazil. I'm graduated as mechatronical engineering and after finding no decent job I learned about trading, then after a couple days reading about it I learned about futures trading and my world completely changed. I started to study this and at the same time trying to rise money for the margins, and now, 1 year later, I already learned about technical analysis, price action and order flow. I'm sticking with order flow analysis, and I'm starting to feel ready to get into the game.

Found this blog while watching some videos from OFA, and I intend to share knowledge and experience here, as well as know other traders from around the world.

Hello Mike, I have been a member until now in name only. Today, I decided to take the next step with this site. Thanks for inviting me. My past history in futures trading is a broker, CTA, weekly newspaper, daily trade hotline and analyst for several firms. The new technology is now. It is very interesting to say the least.
