At the beginning it is normal to experience some fear while trading. The problem comes when this fear alters your decision making. There could be many reasons why you experience fear while trading with real money. I am not sure of your situation but below are some things to think about and some of the things that helped me at the begginig
* Are you trading with not enough capital and taking to many position risks
* Are you trading for accuracy (vs expectancy)? Do you feel you need to be right on each trade
* Is your entry location too aggressive? Stop to big, target to small?
* Do you have a daily plan with areas of good entries/targets

After taking care of the above if you still experience fear you could try breathing exercises or meditation. Before trading I didn't do any of these but now I do an hour a day of meditation and it has helped me a lot with my emotional states.

Try Van Tharp, I have read all his stuff and it had helped in a huge way. Don't fear fear, learn your issues and trade your positives.

My name is Scott. Complete newb, no live account, have been trading paper with TOS. Hope to at some point start with trade station and a small account. Goal is to build a small account overtime to generate extra monthly income. I work full time and will swing trade. All swing traders here, your advise will be most welcome. Thanks in advance, and I hope all here achieve their goals!

Hi, my name is David. I've been trading off and on for about 10 years with little success. I've spent thousands on courses, and have had some success, but overall, mostly losses. I've spent hours upon hours studying charts, and indicators. I either can't get a system to work, or couldn't understand and implement. I've tried creating my own systems, but when applied in real time, they weren't consistent. I'm primarily a scalper, but could also use a daily system where I study potential trades at night to trade the next day. I currently have a flexible work schedule, and am hoping to supplement income with trading. I primarily trade futures. I'm open to any recommendations and suggestions, and hope to be a consistent, profitable trader.

Hi. My name is Umut.

from Anchorage, Alaska. I got my Bachelor’s degree in Finance in Turkey, which motivated me to get into stock market after I moved to States. I have been actively trading commodity futures and stock options almost last 3 years. I'm a MBA student at University of Alaska. I manage an Italian restaurant as a full time job. I got married recently and expecting a baby very soon

I traded mostly options, and would like to meet traders in this forum.

Have you ever looked at systems on futurestruth.com? I subscribed to the magazine for a year to watch their rating system and study their systems. Big choice, much like Striker.

Hey, actually I am now in Bacolod, Negros but spent time in Cebu. Lost my house in Tacloban during the big storm (Yolanda).
Do you trade Locally, USA? I trade USA accounts as I am a retired Expat living here is paradise.
I traded with BDO and Maybank for a bit, tough market, thin. Momentum seems to work best.
Actually opened an Advisory firm here for a while too to give access to locals to the international markets. All went well until I went to register with the SEC locally, what a nightmare that was. Ended up giving all the money back but at least customers made a few percent before I had to wrap it up. Will try again some day after the SEC cleans up a bit.

I am a full time urologist. That means by nature, I'm a surgeon and I use a scalpel. I make serious judgments all the time that make a difference in peoples lives. Precision is key. Judgement is crucial. Kindnesss helps too. So, when it comes to trading, I don't trust my financial advisor or any one else. I have to be in control. And, if I am going to be in control, I am not going to sit around waiting for a few days for a swing trade to work out sit idly while my position trades take their good old time. There is a time and place for all of that. But, I'm a scalper. I want to be in and out with a profit, and I want to do that several times per day, or night, as the case may be. I'm now taking one day off from a very busy and successful practice to dedicate myself to this serious business. Plus, its a lot less stressful than what I have to put up with in today's health care environment. I'm beholden only to my P&L, not the insurance company, hospital administrators, practice partners, innumerable patients, and excessive government regulations. And when the trade is over, I can walk away. I don't have to answer emails, deal with interruptions, phone calls, and I have time to deal with things that matter most in my life - my heart.
