Thanks for the welcome Mike. I am a retired scientist and teacher in a biological field who got tired of not making any decent money with my 401K equivalent. So after I retired over a year ago, I converted my fund into an IRA and began dabbling with stocks and options, not really making money, but not losing either, as I had little experience and was a low volume trader. Therefore, most of the last year has been about me learning as much as possible and taking courses and webinars about various markets. Doing so, I realized that my best potential for earnings was likely in the futures markets, and I've been concentrating on learning about that for the last few months. Then I discovered my broker would not allow me to invest in futures in my IRA, so I moved the account to a self-directed IRA that would allow it. Which brought me to this forum, hopefully in a timely manner. I'm wondering if there is anyone in the north central Florida area who would be willing to give me some pointers or if there is a local group of investors that get together regularly that would be willing to help out beginners. Thanks. I will be using Sierra Chart, so any tips on optimizing that platform greatly appreciated as well. Looklng to help others in the future once I get successful.

Hi

I'm a relatively new trader and still learning like crazy. I haven't joined the Elite group yet but may join soon. I hope to learn from the right people in this forum.

May I ask a question? Are there any good threads on companies that offer funding for traders? I'm aware of TST and MES but would like to research more.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to be more active and learning from you guys

Regards

JP Roux

Hi all. Excited to be here and to contribute. I am still a relative noob to trading. I have blown up my account and am trying to hone my skill set while controlling emotions and the monkey mind before really jumping back in the pool. I am hoping to learn better ways to make trading mechanical. Looking forward to learning from everyone!

Thanks to Mike for the forum.

I started with forex trading on EURUSD many years ago and has since moved on to trade CME/Globex futures 6E.

I have learned a lot from BMT (Fusion.IO) over the years and decided to register as a member.

I will also join as Elite Member.

Hey everyone thanks for letting me join the club. I'm a computer science undergrad and am looking for more information on how to make money within the stock market. I really don't know nothing about it but i hope to learn a lot about it here and share and help others what I've learned. Well see you guys around.

Hello Big Mike,

My name is Terrell and I have been practicing trading the FOREX market for about 5 months now. I have learned a lot so far and I feel that I am started to grasp a few key concepts to trading. I would consider myself a price action trader with a some emphasis on swing and breakout trades. I really don't feel comfortable using indicators outside of MA's. My hopes is to start a small live account around March of this year to really sink my teeth into the market. I appreciate what you have created with this forum and hope to share my knowledge and experiences once obtained.

Best

Hi all.

I have been spending a lot of time reading about and day-trading futures (in sim mode). After about three years of fairly intensive studying, I'm still not profitable enough to trade the real account. So I keep investing the real account, medium term, and that is profitable.

I feel like I'm learning one essential thing every three months.

But so far, apparently, I have not learned enough of the essential things to be able to day-trade profitably.

My current interests (2016): Viper Trading's approach, PAT$, scalping, trend following, entries.

I don't mind the journey. Actually, liking it. But I sure hope that someday I'll arrive somewhere!
